YouTube Drops Ludwig “Child Safety” Ban After Investigation
Ludwig’s 618-day streak of publishing Youtube videos ended thanks to a seemingly random ban. This is the first time he couldn’t upload a video in nearly two years, and it’s for a frankly, very silly reason. He’s huge on Twitch, but it seems like he can’t catch a break elsewhere. He saw a week-long ban for a weird photo on Instagram after the Logan Paul vs. Floyd Mayweather fight, and Ludwig also got a brief ban on Youtube. While this has thankfully been overturned, it’s not for a reason that one might expect. He didn’t offend someone, drop a slur, or offend with accidental nudity.
Laughing at Clips Already Uploaded on Youtube:
Apparently, it was for a “You Laugh You lose” video. Initially, it was a week-long ban, which has since been lifted. The reason was for “child safety” reasons, reportedly. Ludwig didn’t even seem to be familiar with what he could have done to get a Youtube ban in the first place. He talked about it on Twitch, and some of his viewers suggested it might have been a clip of a monkey throwing poop at a child. While sure, that can be seen as funny, it’s already a clip that’s on Youtube already.
Ludwig spoke about this in particular:
“The video is on YouTube. If my video got taken down, but the [original] video has 10x my views… Every single clip is a reaction to a clip on YouTube.”
Ludwig’s huge upload streak was ruined thanks to this random ban. This didn’t make sense to Ludwig, and ultimately, the video was reuploaded, but with a caveat. Now it has an Age Restriction on it, and Youtube also lifted the ban. It’s a very strange decision, but at least it was overturned. If the other person’s videos/clips weren’t removed or ban dropped, why was this one? Just because it has more views, even if it’s not the original owner of the video? Sounds like Youtube needs to be a bit fairer with how it doles out punishments.
