Riot has something very special in store for their 150th champion release; a teaser of Yasuo’s older half-brother Yone! We’ve known about Yone and his grim fate for quite a while now. It’s quite evident that Riot is preparing yet another highly unique (and mechanically intensive) champion whose release is right around the corner. There’s a lot that we don’t know, but we did get a glimpse of his splash art, along with a mesmerizing short animated trailer directly from Riot.

If you’re into sword-wielding, edgy assassins with anime-like backstories and deep connections with the League of Legends lore, this might be the perfect champion for you!

Riot will probably use the upcoming Spirit Blossom event to reveal this mysterious swordsman fully, and if things pan out as expected, he’s bound to be an insanely impactful champion with a fascinating set of abilities. We’re in for quite a lot of fun, and it seems as though Riot has no intention of slowing down, even though Lillia was revealed recently.

A spectacular animated trailer was just released online. The Yone teaser gives us a better look at Yone and his internal struggle.

League fans and players across the globe are watering at the mouth right now.

Leaked Splash Art

Yone’s splash art leaked recently. It gives us a much better look at the possessed swordsman. The similarities with Yasuo are apparent, but he does bring a little extra something to the table, both in regards to his visuals and his more brooding nature. The fact that he wields two swords and consumed with guilt and anger means he’ll probably be equally as nimble and swift as his younger brother, but far less majestic and dignified in execution.

One has to wonder how Yone’s ability kit (and overall aesthetics) will compare to Yasuo. Will Riot make the two swordsmen similar and yet distinct, like Darius and Draven? Or will they be two sides of the same coin? According to their lore, they share much of the same skillset (given their Ionian roots and upbringing), but their paths did diverge at one point, which should end up making a huge difference in the way they approach battle.

Everyone’s dying to find out more about Yone, and these small nuggets and leaks are only increasing the hype! Fortunately, Yone’s release is imminent, and if the recent past is any indication, we won’t have to wait long for his full reveal.
