Witcher 3 Lead Quest Designer Joins Riot for Upcoming LoL MMO
Here’s an unexpected bit of news: the lead quest designer for The Witcher 3 — undoubtedly one of the best action RPGs of all time — has joined Riot Games and will work on its upcoming LoL MMO! If that doesn’t get you hyped for what’s to come, nothing else will!
Having ample financial backing is great (if not a prerequisite), but it’s only one-half of the equation. Having the right individuals on the team — those who are both experienced and highly passionate about the source material — is what can turn an okay title into a truly great one.
And, well, bringing in a CD Projekt RED veteran like Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz is about as promising a sign as it gets!
“Big career update – I spent the last few months meeting and talking to a number of great people and Teams, and now I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be joining Riot Games on their upcoming MMO project. I’m excited and looking forward to this new challenge, stay tuned,” Tomaszkiewicz said on Twitter.
Still a Ways Off
Details on Riot’s first-ever MMO are still scarce (to say the least), but it’s hard not to be optimistic given whom they’ve brought on board! Moreover, if Riot’s recent titles — Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, Valorant, and League of Legends: Wild Rift — are anything to go by, it’s fair to assume that this LoL MMO will deliver in every way, shape, and form!
We’re still a ways off from seeing any trailer or gameplay footage, but at least we know that the folks over at Riot are hard at work and that they’re focused on bringing in the right individuals who will push this oh-so-interesting MMO to the next level!
Hopefully, we’ll get an update of some kind before the end of the year, although that’s perhaps a bit too optimistic.
