Wild Rift’s First International Event the Horizon Cup Kicks Off in November
Riot Games is pushing esports further, with their first-ever Wild Rift: Horizon Cup. We’re seeing a major move for Riot to make sure they’re at the forefront of esports in the MOBA genre, and in November, they’re taking the fight to Singapore. This is the first international Wild Rift esports tournament by Riot Games, and so it’s a pretty exciting thing to hear about.
Riot’s Committed to Mobile Esports With Wild Rift:
So what’s exactly going down with the Wild Rift: Horizon Cup? The best of the best players are going to come together and compete, all aiming towards Singapore. This is to celebrate the end of the 2021 preseason, and will have ten teams doing battle in the Wild Rift: Horizon Cup. These teams will come from regional qualifiers, and then head to Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre in November.
Leo Fria, Global Head of Wild Rift Esports spoke about this announcement:
“The Wild Rift Horizon Cup is the first of many steps we will take to show how committed we are to our mobile fans around the world. We are excited to share more of what we’ve been preparing for the future of the sport later this year.”
The first international title will be decided for Wild Rift from November 13th – November 21st. The Finals will take place on November 21st, and we cannot wait to see who shows up. Quite a few major esports orgs have been fielding Wild Rift teams, so we imagine some of them will be making a play here. Riot Games are committed to building their esports ecosystem for Wild Rift, and this is a great step in that direction.
More information will be available as we get closer to the event, such as regional qualifier dates, the prize pool, broadcast schedule and format. As we learn more, we’ll make sure to bring you all the details you need to take in this incredible event. This, alongside the Wild Rift World Championships mean it’s going to be a great year for Wild Rift esports fans.
