WePlay Academy League Season 2 for CSGO Now Underway

Many esports scenes struggle to bring mainstream attention to smaller leagues or competitions, especially if they don’t feature the scene’s top talent or most recognizable organizations. Oftentimes, these events don’t carry the same prestige and production level that we’ve come to expect from mainstream esports competitions. WePlay! is looking to rectify that for CSGO with Season 2 of the WePlay Academy League for CSGO now underway.
WePlay Academy League – Format and Who to Watch Out For
Season 2 of the WePlay Academy League for CSGO will feature a format departure from season one. Teams will now participate in best-of-three matches in two separate groups, with the top team from each group qualifying for the LAN finals. Second and third-place teams will move onto a double-elimination bracket where the top two teams will advance to the finals. All other remaining teams receive a share of a $12,000 prize pool for their participation.

All teams from season 1 of the WePlay Academy League for CSGO return for season 2. These teams include:
- Young Ninjas
- Mouz NXT
- Astralis Talent
- FURIA Academy
- BIG Academy
- VP.Prodigy
- NAVI Junior
- Fnatic Rising
Players to watch during this event include NAVI Junior’s m0NESY and mouz NXT’s JDC. m0NESY has drawn many comparisons to s1mple, his compatriot on NAVI’s main squad. The 16-year-old routinely outpaces both his teammates and his competition in terms of performance, typically leading in kills throughout the game as well as average damage per round. JDC has shown proficient playmaker skills in tense situations such as his 1v2 clutch on Mirage versus Young Ninjas to secure mouz NXT’s match point.
The most exciting part of Season 2 of WePlay Academy League for CSGO will have to be the set for the grand finals. WePlay has been knocking it out of the park with their production and set design, and we’re sure to see something eye-catching from the Ukrainian event organizer once Season 2 of the WePlay Academy League reaches the grand finals.
Those wanting to watch the event should tune into the WePlayCSGO channel on Twitch to see some of the best young talents in the CSGO scene right now.
