Warzone Loadouts Are Changing in Season 4 Because of Dead Silence
Dead Silence continues to make Warzone borderline unplayable in Season 4, thanks to Loadouts. That’s even with a nerf to the perk! We reported yesterday that the High Alert perk would be buffed in order to help combat Dead Silence. Some think Dead Silence is a great way to deal with campers, but another large group thinks it’s wildly overpowered in quite a few situations. While we’re glad to see it get a (sort of) nerf, it wound up still making things worse. Somehow, Dead Silence just makes the game worse every time. How? There’s a brand-new, exciting exploit that has to be stopped!
How are the devs fixing it? By removing Loadouts for the time being.
Say Goodbye to Loadouts
A new exploit with this latest patch allows people to infinitely activate Dead Silence. Can you imagine people just running around for the whole game in total silence? Sure, you can use High Alert, but not everyone is going to also have High Alert to counter Dead Silence. So an immediate change had to be made in Season 4 Warzone, and it came to loadouts. That is to say, they’re going away:

Players will no longer begin a match with their Loadouts. This also resolves an issue with infinite Dead Silence in core BR modes.

It’s strange that the exploit wasn’t actually removed from the game. Instead, they just removed Loadouts, which stops the exploit from happening. It may simply be that the devs have no idea what causes it, or that it would require a major rollback. It could also be a fix that the devs don’t have time to implement at this moment.
Are people going to be upset about the removal of Loadouts in Season 4 of Warzone? For sure, that’s bound to happen. They aren’t gone forever though. Likely only until they can fix the problem. This was a serious issue that absolutely had to get resolved immediately though. Pre-Lobby Loadouts are just a convenience/quality-of-life feature at best though. If that means we can hear our opponent’s coming again, it’s a price I’m willing to pay. Hopefully, the problem is fixed soon!
