Valkyrae Shares How Her YouTube Contract Reduced Viewership Concerns
In January, Valkyrae signed an exclusive contract with YouTube, and it signaled the beginning of a huge explosion in popularity. She was already a major force on YouTube. Through the Among Us craze, she blew up to around 3.5 million followers on YouTube. However, the streamer has recently begun other non-streaming ventures. From being in music videos to co-owner of 100 Thieves, a lot is going on in her life right now. But will this affect her income through her YouTube contract?
Diversifying Her Bonds
In an interview with CodeMiko, Valkyrae opened up about just how secure her YouTube contract is. Her contract takes a lot of the burden and stress off of streaming, to be honest. If she suddenly began declining viewers, it wouldn’t hurt her money in the least. This has to be a relief, in case Among Us suddenly drops off and nobody cares about it anymore.
Valkyrae had this to say about her becoming famous and the YouTube contract. “I think obviously Among Us had a lot to do with that, but it was very, very unexpected. It felt like extra credit because when I switched over, obviously I signed a contract, so I was like, ‘Ok, this is for stability, I can do what I want and not have to worry about numbers and stuff if I have one viewer I’ll be fine. And then it was a lot more than one viewer.”
While we don’t know what she’s making, it has to be a relief. Some people might be upset about the contract details, though. Once you start hitting big numbers on a stream, it can become a point of anxiety. If you start losing subs or followers, you have to figure out what you’re doing wrong or what you’re losing people on. Pokimane’s still the biggest female streamer by a large margin, though.
As long as she fulfills the amount of time she has to be on the air, it doesn’t seem to matter how many people show up. She will be a huge name no matter what and isn’t likely to start bleeding viewers. There’s no shade coming in from us, either. That’s a great deal to get, and it allows Valkyrae to do more than just stream all day. It allows her to focus on other projects, try new things, and figure out what works for her in her life as a content creator.
We’re fairly certain many streamers would like to see guaranteed money, no matter what kind of numbers they pull in for their audience. It means Valkyrae can relax, be herself, and show just why she’s the queen of YouTube.
