Toronto Ultra Warzone Tournament Announced for This Week

by in Call of Duty | Mar, 1st 2021

While the Call of Duty League proper is getting its 2021 season on with the Super Week last week, it looks like one of the teams has its competition to host. League team Toronto Ultra is holding its tournament this week with the Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament announcement.

Toronto Ultra Is Hosting Its Own Warzone Tournament

The popular Canada-based Call of Duty League team posted about the new Call of Duty Warzone event on Twitter this week, revealing that it hosts a competition of its own. The team will be hosting the event and giving out some healthy prize money in the process.

Fans of the Ultra team and/or Call of Duty Warzone will not want to miss out on the Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament that will feature some of the hottest battle royale players from around Twitch in a single event to see who will come out on top.

As Toronto is hosting this event, it does look like none of the Call of Duty League team’s starting players will be competing themselves. Rather, the organization is hosting the event. It has invited some of the top Warzone streamers to play in this tournament.

The Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament will begin today, March 1, and continue through tomorrow, Tuesday, March 2. The action will be divided up across the two days. A winner will be determined for the event after everything has been completed.

Aydan and Other Huge Content Creators Will Be There

The Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament is being touted as one of the biggest tournaments of the year for the Call of Duty battle royale game. The full list of teams and players has not been revealed even though the event begins today, but we know some of the players for it.

The tweet revealed that some of the players in the event are going to be Aydan, Tommey, Swagg, Teep, ZLaner, and Huskers. But we know that there are plenty more players who will be in the event beyond just these six that have been revealed.

What is also currently unknown is whether this will be a solos tournament or one that features teams. Alternatively, a two-part event with one day is solo and another team day, given that it will take place across two days.

Toronto Ultra has been pretty silent in how the match format and schedule will work, given that it is beginning today. But, six players were spotlighted, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they are the leaders of six different teams in the event or something like that.

$100,000 Will Be Given Out in the Event

Regardless, what we know is that fans will be able to watch all of the action in the Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament live as it happens and find out just what is going on with this mysterious event. It will be broadcast live on the main event channel for both days: the official Call of Duty Twitch channel.

It looks like Toronto has permission to use that channel to host this event live, but we also imagine that players like Aydan and Swagg will be able to stream the event on their accounts, too. If you wonder if some of your favorites are playing, check-in later today on Twitch and see the Warzone category. The players involved in this event should be shown there playing it live.

This event is here in celebration of the second season of Call of Duty Warzone. The Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament will feature the new Season 2 changes to the battle royale map in an event where there is a massive $100,000 payout available. From the new Zombies-infested Shipwreck to the subway system’s loss, this changed Verdansk map will likely be the setting for this event.

Season 2 is pretty massive not just for the mainline Call of Duty game Black Ops Cold War but also for Warzone. It continues to connect those two games with new weapons, operators to play as, and a whole new battle pass for players to progress through for the next few months.

Toronto Ultra Has Had a Rough 2021 Season Thus Far

The Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament is a great way to see how the pros and popular content creators adjust to the new weapons and changes to the battle royale game in this new second season and potentially learn a thing or two from them in the process.

While we won’t likely see some of the Toronto Ultra players competing in the event, you can see them participate this week in their events with the first Major of the 2021 Call of Duty League season. Toronto is one of the bottom teams for its group after some hefty losses this season.

Though the Ultra team got a terrific start to the season with the upset win over the Florida Mutineers to kick things off, they then lost every single match they played after that to go 1-4 for their current record. That is a rough score and one that puts them in the bottom bracket for the upcoming Major.

One loss in that event this week will mean the end of the road for them this stage of the season, so they will need to do their best to take out London Royal Ravens in the first round and keep it going throughout the rest of the event to ensure a comeback this season.
