Team Heretics Player Davidp Takes ESEA Team Spot For Himself
When planning on releasing players from your CSGO roster, it’s probably best to make sure players are not in control of anything related to the team.
Unfortunately, Spanish squad Team Heretics learned that the hard way. David “Davidp” Prins, the team’s former captain, utilized his control of the ESEA account to remove the rest of the Heretics roster. The move left himself in sole possession of the spot.
This comes after Heretics removed him and David “devoduvek” Dobrosavljevic from the lineup. Jérémy “jeyN” Nguyen and Alexandre “xms” Forté replaced them.
In the Rulebook
Davidp explained why he took the spot from Heretics in a tweet.
You guys have to know that we played half of the season with JiNKZ & logaN then after with KioShiMa and Lucky, the only guy which i played the whole season with was Maka.

I have been a part of this spot since day 1. 2/2
The rule Davidp is referring to in the ESEA rulebook states that teams need 65% of their roster to be players who played for the team last season to maintain your spot in the league. With Team Heretics changes, they dropped to 60% of the roster remaining, putting them below the threshold.
Considering Davidp has less of the team together and still managed to get the spot kept for himself, it will be interesting to see ESEA’s justification for allowing Davidp to keep the spot over the Heretics’ core squad or another roster.
All eyes will now be on Davidp and what sort of squad he puts together for their campaign. Will he succeed in becoming the next player-created org success story or will yet another team to fall by the wayside?
As always, we’ll keep you updated as the situation continues to develop.
