Giving Back

The idea behind this scholarship is that it will help someone who deserves a chance in video game development and esports/gaming. The scholarship Tasty Steve brought about with Yellowbrick will give that individual resources to pursue a career/degree in one of those fields. We always need more talent in esports, game development, or the production/casting side of things.

You may have heard Tasty Steve before and not know it. He’s incredibly active on Twitter, and videos of him casting/commentating are all over YouTube. Wednesday Night Fights, Capcom Pro Tour, Tekken World Tour Finals, Tasty Steve has done it all. He’s this writer’s favorite commentator. We are glad to see him giving back to the community in such a serious way.

What does the Yellowbrick/Tasty Steve scholarship do? Yellowbrick’s website says their programs have the potential to change students lives by doing the following:

  • Providing a valuable credential, in the form of a certificate from a leading university, that will help open doors to career opportunities that students may not have otherwise known about
  • Developing real-world skills that empower students to seize these opportunities
  • Informing choices and helping students build an actionable roadmap toward setting and accomplishing career goals
  • Inspiring dreams and building the confidence and know-how to pursue them

If you go to the Yellowbrick website, you can enter your email and complete the scholarship form. It’s honestly a brilliant idea, and seeing more scholarships for esports scene is a great way to start the day. Thank you, Tasty Steve; this scholarship will no doubt help someone get their start.
