Jake’s Pick’Ems for the StarLadder Berlin Major New Legends Stage

by in CS:GO | Aug, 27th 2019

The New Challengers Stage of the Berlin Major is over, and to celebrate we’ve got a special treat for you all today. Our very own video reporter Jake Lucksan has stepped out of the recording booth to give us his Berlin Major pickems for The New Legends Stage.

So, without further ado, here’s Jake’s picks.

Jake’s Picks

My Berlin Major pickems prediction is that MIBR has to be an obvious 0-3 choice.

Yes, they have made several teams look like fools with Zews playing, but any team without a coach is a weakened team at this stage of the tournament, so they should go 0-3 in this setting.

For my 3-0 prediction, it’s a lot harder because you should definitely be putting Liquid there.

However, I don’t want to sacrifice a 100% free point as per usual, so I’m actually gonna go with the only team I think could beat Liquid in a best of three, one of the few who have taken them to a map 3 recently: Avangar.

I’m not sure they can even make it through the stage, so yes, I’ll sacrifice them there. Then, of course, Liquid is a 100% lock for getting out of the stage, along with Astralis and Na’Vi, both of whom are the next best and obvious picks.

Team Vitality is my weak pick that I can’t really explain. They looked god awful against Grayhound and things need to be corrected, but I have faith in it somehow.

I think NRG and Mousesports both impressed me during Challengers, so I’m taking them both as well to make it out of this stage.

NRG has beaten Avangar, and Mouse has beaten G2, so I give them the edge over those two. Lastly, I gotta go with ENCE for the final team out to playoffs.

Even with Aleksi getting the boot post-Major he still has to show teams what he’s got if he wants a spot somewhere afterward, and they are still a top team here.

I saw NiP play ESL relegations rather unconvincingly, dropping several series, and I think North could be a choice as well, but they had a relatively weak run going into the Major. I have no faith in Renegade’s recent performance or FaZe with Neo, so I don’t see either of them making it out.

DreamEaters is a massive underdog too after the performance they put up in The New Challenger Stage and could make it out if they turn it on at the right time.

I’m just not liking the inconsistency I saw in CR4ZY, so I don’t think I could put faith in them advancing. They’re a team that consistently blows leads and man advantages that Legends teams should easily be able to capitalize on.

Thanks for dropping by with your picks for The New Legends Stage Jake and thank you our dear readers for sticking with us.
