The tragic passing of Desmond “Etika” Amofah recently sent tremors across the Nintendo community, specifically for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as a whole. For the last couple of days since the news of his death, fans have been sharing their favorite memories, traits, Etika fan art, and accomplishments from the popular YouTuber’s life.

But one particular tribute to Etika is by far the best and most tearful way to pay respects to him. Famous and extremely talented fan artist Callum “NinN” Nakajima posted a picture on Twitter with no context whatsoever earlier this week. From a quick glance, it just looks like a brilliant fan art rendition of the Smash roster.

But if you zoom in even a little bit, you will see that it is actually Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Etika fan art. You can clearly see the YouTuber standing side by side with the rest of the massive character roster featuring video game personalities from across the industry, though, the recently announced Hero from the Dragon Quest series and Banjo Kazooie are understandably missing.

In the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Etika fan art, you can see that the characters are lined up left to right with all of them facing and moving towards the left side of the image. If you look closer in on the far left side, you will see that the person leading them all is none other than Etika himself.

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Etika fan art is done so well that you wouldn’t be wrong to think that Nintendo created the art officially itself. Rather than paint the YouTuber in a sad light, the art graciously choose to show him leading the pack with purpose in his steps and a small smirk on his face.

Etika is also wearing a snazzy outfit complete with a red and blue Joy-Con Nintendo Switch in his right hand. The fan art is simple but effective at cementing his place as one of the most important content creators to ever be part of the Nintendo community.

What makes it even more beautiful is that this isn’t the first time that artist NinN has shared this fan art before. They have updated it in the past with this latest update being the most important one yet. This truly emphasizes Nintendo’s motto for the beloved and highly successful fight game: “Everyone is here.”

With the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Etika fan art update, fans can now say that truly everyone is in the art. Well, at least until the new fighters join the roster at least. The art itself is well done in the style of Nintendo’s crossover fighting game, featuring different concentrations of the characters across the banner.

The characters are smartly and cleanly divided up in a natural progression of colors across the spectrum with similarly colored characters being grouped together. Etika was a popular YouTuber, known for his great content surrounding live reactions to announcements, streams, and video game content in general.

Etika quickly became popular in the Nintendo community for his wild and hilariously awesome reactions to Nintendo Direct, specifically for the Smash Bros. character announcements. He had well over 800,000 fans across both YouTuber and Twitch collectively.

Etika lovingly referred to his fanbase as the JoyCon Boyz. He went missing recently and was not heard from for several days until belongings that appeared to be his were discovered on a bridge in New York City. Police began searching for him and found his body Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Manhattan’s East River.

He had been known to deal with mental health issues that he talked about honestly in his content online. With this wonderful Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Etika fan art by NinN, the community and fans have one way to remember him from here on fondly.

Our hearts and thoughts are with the family, friends, and fans of Etika during this difficult time.
