Scump Signs with UTA

As esports has become more and more professionalized, an increasing number of players have begun seeking representation for themselves in contract negotiations, generally through lawyers.

Scump appears to be bucking that trend, however, as he has now revealed his signing to famed talent firm UTA, one of the largest talent agencies in the world.

Scump

One of the biggest names in Call of Duty esports, Seth “Scump” Abner, or “The King” as he’s known by fans, was the former captain of OpTic Gaming prior to the CoD scene franchising at the end of this year.

In his six years with the OpTic line-up, Scump led the team to multiple major championships, including the 2017 Call of Duty World League (CWL) Championship and their most recent victory at the 2018 CWL Las Vegas Open.

In total, Scump has racked up 27 major titles, in addition to back-to-back Major League Gaming (MLG) X Games gold medals and the “Best Console Player” award at the first-ever Esports Industry Awards in 2016.

He’s also a highly popular content creator and streamer with over five million followers across his social media pages and over five-hundred million views on his YouTube channel.

During the first CWL 2K Tournament this year, he reached a major streaming milestone as well when his stream of the event peaked at 101,000 concurrent viewers, a record for the CoD scene.

UTA

UTA is one of the world’s largest talent agencies, representing stars across gaming, film, television, and music such as Anderson Cooper, Angelina Jolie, Kevin Hart, and Delta Heavy amongst many others.

The company last year acquired the esports and gaming influencer talent agency Press X and esport personalities management company Everyday Influencers.

Since then, the firm has rapidly grown its esports division to represent today’s most popular personalities, including NICKMERCS, Pokimane, Aphromoo, and H3CZ, strongly establishing itself as the worlds premier esports and digital media personality talent agency.

The signing of Scump opens the door to a host of new sponsorship and brand growth opportunities for him.
