Rocket League’s Rocket Pass Launches Today

by in General | Sep, 5th 2018

The brand-new Rocket Pass in Rocket League launched today at 1 p.m. EDT. The pass is a time-limited progression system that gives users ways to earn new content in Rocket League. The Rocket Pass will run from Sept. 5 – Nov. 26.

There are two versions of the Rocket Pass – free and pro. The free pass has rewards that will unlock automatically and gives everyone the opportunity to earn new free content. Players will receive new customization items, player banners, in-game titles, and decryptors. The decryptors will open crates that you collect during gameplay, but the item that you receive will be untradeable. The free version allows users to earn up to 29 rewards by playing the game online.

The pro version of the Rocket Pass will cost you ten keys, or $9.99. There are 70 tiers in the pro pass, and you’ll receive a new item after each tier. The content you can earn from the 70 pro tiers are wheels, goal explosions, new car bodies, keys, premium player banners, premium titles, and keys. Players can also unlock ‘XP Boosts’ and ‘XP Awards’ that will help you advance through the pass quicker.

At level one of the Rocket Pass, players will unlock the brand-new car body called Maverick. The Maverick will upgrade as you progress through the Rocket Pass, as you unlock the Maverick G1 at level 25 and Maverick GXT at level 70. All three cars will have a Dominus hitbox, according to a Psyonix staff member’s post on Reddit.

The Rocket Pass and the pro upgrade is available to every Rocket League player, no matter which platform you play on. Every item in the pro tier pass is tradable, except for typical items that are non-tradable like player titles. Players can also upgrade to the pro tier at any time without losing any progress, and you’ll receive everything you would’ve if you had the pro tier from the start. Psyonix suggests that it will take 100 hours of gameplay to complete all 70 tiers.

If you choose to purchase the Rocket Pass Pro, then you’ll be rewarded with the chance of getting painted or certified items. It is a select list of premium pass rewards. Players will not receive the same item and attribute combination twice until you’ve unlocked the full set. The items selected on the list are considered the best premium rewards from the pass.

At the end of the Rocket Pass, you’ll keep everything that you’ve earned except the XP multipliers.
