PUBG Mobile introduces a brand new version of the classic Erangel battle royale map for players to check out in the new 1.5 update. This new version of the map will be part of the special PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition game mode that will offer a futuristic take on Erangel for a limited time.
PUBG Mobile Update 1.5 Brings Future Erangel
By the time you are reading this, update 1.5 for PUBG Mobile will live on both Android and iOS devices around the world. Fortunately, the server has not been taken offline for this new patch, so players can seamlessly transition from one version to another.
The only step you need to take is to download the new update version on your platform of choice and install it. The space required for update 1.5 will vary depending on whether or not you are on Android or iOS, with Android requiring far less space in general for this update.
In total, you will only need about 686MB of free storage space on Android to download and install this update. However, on the other hand, the iOS version will require much more space at much more than double that at 1.64GB in total.
Like previous major updates in PUBG Mobile, players on two different versions will not be able to play together in matches, so be sure to update and get your friends to do the same if you would like to check out the new ones PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition and more.
To encourage players to update as soon as possible, there is a new iteration of the login rewards that players will be able to get for updating the game and then hopping into the game during a set time. Until July 16, players who update to patch 1.5 and log in will receive 2888 BP, 100 AG, and the Victorian Maiden backpack 3D item.
With the launch of 1.5, the major piece of content here is the new PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition game mode that will be around for a limited time. There are other significant changes to the overall game, but this one will be the game’s focus until the beginning of September.
Map Areas of Erangel That Are Changed in Mission Ignition
The gist of the new PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition game mode is a special take on the usual Erangel battle royale experience. This new featured mode takes us to a futuristic-like Erangel map with high-tech features and places that you can visit.
The new version of Erangel is not just a surface-level change, either, as several large parts of the map have been changed to accompany this new futuristic look and feel. As for why this is happening and only until the beginning of September, it could have to do with the upcoming PUBG New State game.
As we already know, PUBG New State is a sequel to PUBG and its mobile counter, Mobile, taking place several decades in the future with a new Troi map to visit. It could be that this is Krafton’s way of teasing players with the future of battle royale that we are going to get with New State soon.
In the meantime, we have the new PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition game mode and all of the map changes that it brings with it. Six main points of interest have been changed here by the technology and energy company, DynaHex, and converted Erangel into this new EvoGround game mode.
First up, we have the former Pochinki location that converted into the new area that is known as Transit Center. As the core of Erangel’s transportation network, Pochinki was chosen by the corporation as the place to be transformed into the new Transit Center.
What players will find here is that there is a futuristic station here with its supporting transit system. This means for players that there is a new city bus here that you ride and even use as a form of mobile cover for a new way of getting around the island.
Secondly, there is the location of Georgopol that changed to the Port of Georgopol. You will find here that the location expanded into a logistics port where you will find the new central command center and the fully automated warehouse where you will be able to loot up for the battles ahead.
The School changed to the Tech Center, where the latest scientific research and technologies will show here. On the gameplay side, Tech Center will offer numerous paths and structures here for a different way to check out this area from its previous incarnation as the School.
Next up, we have the Military Base. This massive location on Erangel changed in the PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition mode to the Security Center. You will find that it has a more futuristic look to it now as the main place for the company to monitor the island’s security.
Next up, we have Yasnaya Polyana that converted into the new Logistics Agency facility. You will find here the most important distribution center on the island, so this will be a great place to show up at the start of a match and gear up for the rest of the game.
And the final major transformation has to do with the Mylta Power location. This place is now known as the Energy Center, which provides energy to the entire island with its new cutting-edge technology and looks.
New Ground Weapon and Vehicle
There are more general changes to the Erangel map beyond the main six areas converted in the PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition game mode. There are new dynamic elements on the island, for starters, like the lifts, automatic doors, and other moving platforms that you will find in the upgraded areas to give it that post-modern feel.
Furthermore, the city bus is not the only new mode of transportation that you can use on the island as there is now the HyperLines network. These are basically like teleporting centers where you will get from one location to another fixed spot on the map at certain times in the match.
Then there is the new Air Conveyor to help the players travel through the air and patrol in the sky. You can find these usually around some of the urban areas on the map and near the bases.
There are also new weapons that you will be able to find in the PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition, starting with the ASM Abakan that you will be able to get as ground loot. It fires 5.56mm rounds with three different firing modes: standard fully automatic, two-shot burst, and single-shot modes.
A two-shot burst may seem weird, but it might be the selling point of the ASM Abakan due to how the gun works. The first two shots that you get off with it will be extremely accurate and can be fired one after another quickly, making it more suitable for the unique two-shot burst fire mode.
It will have some attachments that you will get for the Abakan to make it even better for your playstyle. First off, we have the ergonomic grip that will allow it to better handle, control recoil better, and accelerate the general recoil recovery process.
There is also the muzzle brake that will reduce the scattering of bullets and control more recoil. And then there is the drum magazine that can increase the magazine at the cost of the reload time. Something else that is unique to the new version of Erangel is the futuristic anti-gravity motorcycle.
This special motorcycle has two seats and can be used to get across the entire map with ease, making for a great way to traverse in PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition matches. Other unique items in this mode include the tactical marking device that will automatically mark the position of enemies who have been hit and give you more info on your teammates.
There is the classic riot shield that you can deploy as a way to protect against bullets in fights and the spawn island holographic display that will show the map and flight route for that match before you even start. It can also show the markers that other players have placed to give you an idea of what to do.
A couple of other new features include the jump marker with a much cooler way of handling placing markers on the map and the auto-parachute that will let you automatically glide to the marked location if you have it enabled.
Tesla Arrives and MG3 LMG
The PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition mode has caught the attention of the real-world company, which is now engaging in collaboration with the mobile battle royale game. As part of this, there is a brand new location that you can visit on the island that is known as the Tesla Gigafactory.
This will appear on the map, potentially in different locations around the island, and you can visit it for a little minigame of a sort. What you need to do is activate all the switches of the assembly line of the Tesla Gigafactory, and then it will build you a Tesla Model Y vehicle.
What is unique about this Tesla Model Y is that it takes after the actual car in real life by having a self-driving feature. The game itself will have an autopilot mode where you can activate it on the highways of the map to automatically take players to the location of preset markers along the highway, freeing you up to scout for other players.
Joining the Tesla Model Y is the Tesla Semi, but this one is not there for players to jump into. Instead, it will spawn randomly along the road and drive on specific routes. Your job is to find it and deal damage to it to make it drop some supply crates that you can loot.
There is another new gun this time around, but this one is not a ground loot, as it is the MG3 LMG. The light machine gun will use 7.62mm rounds with a unique firing mode. It offers both the 660 and 990 rates of fire per minute, depending on your preference.
If you use it with a bipod attachment, it will significantly reduce recoil when firing prone, but this powerful LMG will only spawn in the air drops. With its addition, the M249 is being kicked from the supply drops loot and now on the ground in classic mode.
New PUBG Mobile Features
Additional features are new to PUBG Mobile in 1.5. They do not necessarily have to do with just the new PUBG Mobile Mission Ignition game mode. For one, throwable and consumable wheels have been made easier on a touchscreen by allowing you to swipe for them easily.
You can also enable the quick throw feature to throw an item or even a quick wheel throw feature for selecting which item you want to do a quick throw with easily. You can even throw meds at close range for your teammates to pick up if they need it.
After you win in a match, you can now summon a statue to celebrate that with the MVP of the team having this honor. Special emotes will be available near the victory statue. You can also enter photo mode after you have won a match in classic.
One interesting new feature is that the number indicating how much ammo you have left in your magazine will change colors depending on how much you have left. It will change to yellow at 25% ammo, and then it will change to red at 10%.
There is now a report feature for the death replay to more easily catch cheaters. There is also now a notification to show when a teammate has entered battle.
These are some of the new features and changes in this PUBG Mobile 1.5 update. There are some other minor changes that you can find in the full patch notes for the mobile battle royale game right here.
