PUBG Mobile Update 0.17 Brings Season 12 and a New Event

PUBG Mobile update 0.17 is a significant update that is out right now around the world. Players can download it to not only get some major changes for the game but the release of Season 12 of the online multiplayer experience. It is the latest season for the game, now matching the other juggernaut Fortnite.

Season 12 is here, known as 2gether We Play and will be available from now until May 11. The few months that it will be here will allow players to experience some new game modes, a new weapon, and other major changes that enhance the experience as we know it.

But in addition to those expected changes, there is also a new event that will be happening shortly within the game. Later this week, players will have the chance to enjoy the PUBG Mobile 2nd Anniversary limited-time event. To enjoy all of this and more, players will need to update their game.

The download size for this massive update is around 1.69GB on Android and 1.95GB on iOS. It’s a rather large patch for a mobile game, but that is because of all the amazing content that is now available.

PUBG Mobile 2nd Anniversary Event Details

The PUBG Mobile 2nd Anniversary event kicks off this Thursday, March 12. It is, as the name suggests, in celebration of two years that the game has been out for iOS and Android devices. It came out in 2018, about a year or so after the initial launch of the original PUBG experience on PC.

Though the two games differ in terms of content, the core experience is there and PUBG Mobile has a lot to celebrate this year. To honor this momentous occasion, the PUBG Mobile 2nd Anniversary event will have a new game mode for players to check out.

Called the Amusement Parks mode, players will be able to find old school amusement parks that will appear in three different locations randomly. In some matches, they may appear on some locations while it could be different in other matches.

Unfortunately, the new game mode will only be available on the Erangel classic battle royale map. When players visit the amusement parks, you will find various attractions like interactive arcade machines. They are found in the parks as well as major towns around the Erangel map.

You will be able to activate them with tokens and play some classic games from the history of video games. You will be able to play Space War, Hunt Game, and more. Beyond that, there will be other attractions available, too, including What’s in the Box, the Shooting Range, Trampoline, and Reverse Bungee.

The Reverse Bungee machines will appear in the middle of the amusement parks and let players launch into the air again to use their parachute for getting to different areas. The event wouldn’t be complete without celebratory items and that is part of it as well.

There are some royale pass reward upgrades that players can get along with themed items that will be returning to the item shop. These will only be around for a limited time, so players are encouraged to check them out before they leave the game again.

During the PUBG Mobile 2nd Anniversary limited-time event, there will also be some event challenges that players on the server will work together towards. Achieving the various goals will earn each player some awesome rewards.

There are also individual events that players can use to claim rewards after completing various tasks. You will get points and rankings based on how you do. You can even earn some rewards from that as well. In terms of achievements, there is the cake collection achievement returning along with the new minigame achievement and login one.

Season 12 Details

The PUBG Mobile 2nd Anniversary event will be happening alongside the start of Season 12, which is live right now. The new season comes with the expected changes of a new game mode, weapon, and more. For starters, hardcore mode is now back in the Arcade section of the mobile game.

In this mode, you are able to play a more realistic and hardcore battle royale experience than ever before. It will have no sound prompts and manual actions are required for features like opening/closing doors and picking up items. This will make for an intense and unique battle royale experience.

In addition to that, a new Arctic mode is coming soon and will only be available on the Vikendi map. Based on the classic battle royale gameplay, players will deal with arctic storms that are dangerous to the player’s body temperature.

Players will need to maintain their temperature by completing tasks like lighting a fire indoors with a lighter, hunting chickens to roast on the fire, and using items like the heater or heat packs. If your temperature drops too low, your health will decrease over time until you bring it back up.

This is all in addition to other changes like the ability to go snowboarding, drones, camera improvements, and more. To find out everything that is available in this update right now, be sure to check out the full patch notes on the official PUBG Mobile website.
