Mousesports in talks with Woxic, Frozen And Karrigan: Ready To Upgrade Their Squad Ahead Of The ESL Pro League

by in CS:GO | Mar, 6th 2019

It’s all over, guys! The 14th CS:GO Major has been wrapped up and Astralis are back-to-back winners. After a splendid all-around performance, The Great Danes ended up losing only a single map in the entire tournament; that long-shot comeback against Renegades on Mirage. That makes Astralis officially the greatest CS:GO team of all time, even better than that 2015 Fnatic roster, which also had some incredible victories in their prime. But, today, we won’t be focusing on Astralis’ accomplishments or Fnatic’s prime roster! Instead, we’ll be focusing on another European side that hasn’t been playing up to their levels lately. Mousesports, a top ten team pre-Katowice, finally decided to make some changes in their squad after failing to qualify for the Major. That being said, here is the freshest news surrounding new Mousesports players that could spice things up for the boys in the red!

Three New Hopes for The Boys in Red

There is not one but three new Mousesports players that have found themselves the focal point of CS:GO transfer news this week. According to HLTV.org, the European esports organization is looking to upgrade their CS:GO roster with woxic, frozen and karrigan. All three of these players have shown their strengths recently, leaving no one wondering if they’re worthy to wear the Mousesports colors.

From the looks of things, they’ll be replacing oskar, STYKO, and sunny, which haven’t been in the best of form during the Katowice Minor qualifier. Their lack of composure was a noticeable sore in Mousesports’s lineup, so a move that sees them stepping down from the roster seems like a logical one. But, enough about the past roster, let’s focus on the new Mousesports players and the impact they could have on the EU giant’s performances in upcoming tournaments!

 Finn “karrigan” Andersen

The Danish tactician had a short spell at Envy but failed to qualify for the Major. This resulted in him returning to FaZe where AdreN already cemented his spot, with NiKo taking over karrigan’s IGL role. That said, karrigan’s move to Mousesports isn’t a surprising one. After all, he played under their colors for roughly two years already, in both CS 1.6 and CS:GO.

Davit “frozen” Čerňanský

Many people are doubting frozen’s abilities. They deem him unfit for Mousesports’ aspirations, not only because of his age, but because of the fact he has no top-tier tournament experience. Need I remind you, frozen is a 16-year old Slovakian prodigy dubbed as one of the most talented youngsters out there. He made a name for himself back in 2017 with eXtatus but has failed to transition his form to 2018 (to a certain extent though). However, with Mousesports’s support, frozen could finally get a chance to compete at the highest competitive level. This would be an excellent opportunity to hone his skills and gather much-needed knowledge at a young age. Will he succeed? Only time will tell, of course!

Özgür “woxic” Eker

Woxic is probably the first name on Mousesports’ wish list. The talented Turk has been playing for HellRaisers since August 2017, making quite the name for himself as a solid all-around AWPer. Arguably, his biggest achievement with HR was the Champions Stage finish at the FACEIT Major London in 2018. Since then, there were many rumors surrounding woxic’s departure, but none nearly as probable as the move to Mousesports. Ideally, the EU giants will want him to replace struggling oskar and bring back the AWPer presence which was definitely lacking in their Katowice Minor debacle.

A Closer Look at The Upgraded Mousesports Team

If everything that’s been said above turns out to be correct, this is what the Mousesports lineup will look like for the next tournament:

This new Mousesports roster will not have plenty of time to get their team cohesion rolling even though they won’t be competing at any of the upcoming tournaments (BLAST Pro Series, WESG nor StarSeries Season 7). That’s because the first competition these new Mousesports players will participate in will be the Esports Championship Series Season 7 Europe. ECS S7 EU starts on March 11th and lasts all the way to May 5th. With a successful ECS campaign and qualification to the Finals, all three of these new Mousesports players will cement their spot in the starting lineup. Fail to qualify, and we might see more drama surrounding one of the most prominent EU teams in CS:GO.

We know Mousesports is an organization that wants to be at the top of the food chain., These players must be well-aware that, if there’s a lack of success during their reign, Stefan Wendt (CEO of Mousesports) won’t hesitate to make further roster alterations.
