Pokimane’s RTS Talent Agency Will Own and Co-Manage EVO
One of the most successful streamers going, Pokimane has started a new talent management agency, RTS – which will also co-manage EVO! That’s right, Pokimane’s company is going to own and help run the biggest fighting game series on the planet. That is a massive undertaking, and that’s not all they’re doing. The guiding principle seems to be to help content creators and streamers, so they can have long, stable careers. In addition, they’re going to work with game devs and brands that want to improve and grow. That’s an admirable goal. It’s incredibly hard to make it as a steamer these days if you’re fresh. The real question is if they will be helping up and coming streamers, or seeking out names that have potential.
The Future of Streaming and Esports
Co-Founding this company is Imane “Pokimane” Anys, and she wants to repair the “broken” relationship that exists between the gamers, esports fans, and brands in general. This new talent agency, RTS is going to unite talent management, brand consultation, and gaming expertise under Pokimane’s guidance. Together, these can help creators, brands, events, and the game publishers themselves.
Pokimane herself spoke about what her goals are in co-founding the RTS talent agency:
“I’ve gone through the wringer with these experiences, and we’re building RTS to be able to provide the support, alleviate the workload and solve this for creators, developers, and brands. My goal is to take my years of experience and make it accessible to newer creators, so they don’t need to go through the process I have endured.”
Pokimane’s RTS also has some major league names involved already. Facebook, Epic Games (Fortnite World Cup), and Sony (EVO)! That’s right, RTS and Sony are working together to make EVO better than it already was. According to the RTS website:
“Evolution Championship Series is the world’s most storied fighting game championship. Jointly operated by Sony & RTS, the premier event brings together all elements of the FGC in an annual celebration of the community and competition.”
That is absolutely massive. Pokimane, as one of the highest-paid influencers and largest streamers, has plenty of experience in growth, working with brands, and making moves as an influencer. She’s incredibly well known as a founder of Offline TV and for her Twitch streams. No matter if it’s League of Legends, Valorant, Among Us, or Fortnite, her streams are always massive hits. Who else is taking part in this venture?
Several veterans of the gaming and entertainment industry are going to team up to bring this talent management company to life. Stuart Saw (Twitch, Endeavor) is the CEO, and the COO comes from Blizzard, Kim Phan. Sue Lee (Twitch) is the VP, Talent Management, and Min-Sik Ko (Turner Sports, ELEAGUE, Endeavor) is the VP of Esports Operations.
RTS boasts that they will offer 360 management, help develop staying power, and help figure out the important ins and outs of content creation. This is from Growth Strategy, Business Development, PR, Branding, Legal, and Taxes/Finances. So the important things. It will be interesting to see how all this comes together, not just for content creators, but for game developers and the brands themselves. So it sounds like Pokimane’s RTS is going to try and help game devs and content creators grow at every level.
We know they’re at least working with two major tournaments, in the Fortnite World Cup and EVO, so this could be a big move for esports in general.
