Poizon Getting Picked Up, Old CSGO,StarLadder Season 8 Leaks, More – CSGO Recap 10/24/2019
Welcome back everyone to our daily recap of CSGO news. Today we’ve got a look at rumors of OG looking to pick up Poizon, a call from pros for a return of the old CSGO system, rumors around a new roster Virtus.Pro is looking to pick-up, and leaks from one of the NiP referees from StarSeries Season 8.
As always, we’ve got a lot to cover today, so let’s dive on in.
OG Looking into Poizon
After announcing their entry into CSGO with an all-star line-up earlier this month, it appears OG is having trouble making sure that squad comes together, as a report from DeKay claims the team is looking to grab Poizon now to fill in for Jampii on the squad.
According to the report, the decision to pursue another AWPer has to do with connections Jampii has had in the past with a VAC-banned account, issues which forced FPL players earlier this year to have a vote at whether he would be invited to play with the pros or not.
He’s not the only player to have to deal with issues surrounding connections to such an account lately either, as both Swag and K0nfig have both had accusations of similar problems thrown at them, leading many to question whether or not you should be responsible for accounts you’ve given control over to someone else.
Focusing back on Poizon, it’s highly likely the move will get approved given Windigo has tried to get rid of its CSGO roster before, and a nice offer for one of their best players would easily help them move toward that goal while still making some money back on the players.
Return to the Old System
Elsewhere in the pro scene, we’ve seen a recent rise of players asking Valve to return the CSGO system to it’s old format, with the previous economy and a nerf to the SG.
It started with Shox several months ago, but now players like Ropz have even come out saying the SG is just too powerful a gun with its scope, while others have brought up complaints about how the economic system currently favors T-side with its heavy resetting of CT’s after a round loss.
There have been countless examples lately of a team on CT-side going up 5-0 or 7-0 in rounds, losing a round, and then suddenly finding themselves at 5-5 or 7-7, something that wasn’t very common before the economy changed.
Valve has yet to release a statement on the matter but, hopefully, they’re looking into the matter between the SG and economy as it currently is.
VP looks for a New Roster
While pros have been getting frustrated with the economy changes, over in Poland Virtus.Pro is once again rumored to be looking to pick-up another orgs roster to put them back in the top 30.
According to rumors circulating, the team is trying to pick-up AVANGARs roster for their own, rebranding the team from a Polish line-up to a CIS/Kazakstanian one.
No official statement on the matter has come from either org, but such a move would indicate VP’s attempts to return to the top flight with an all-Polish line-up are finally done and buried.
We’ll have more as the situation develops.
Na’VI Internal Struggles Leaked
Meanwhile, over at the StarSeries Season 8 LAN in Turkey, Na’Vi’s new line-up appears to be having a string of internal issues, as a leak by one of the refs watching the team during their matches revealed.
According to the post, originally in Russian, S1mple, who has been in charge of the team’s mental in-game, has apparently been raging at his teammates, to the point that it’s tilted GuardiaN into being unable to play properly.
Things may be even worse as it also claims that B1ad3 paused the game at one point just to tell Boombl4 to start being a captain and not just a player, clearly indicating something is deeply wrong with this line-up.
All the pieces are there for an all-star team, but if they can’t get along this roster is definitely not going to last very long.
The team and players have yet to comment on the situation, and the posts by the ref were quickly deleted a short time later, though not before the screen cap above was taken.
That’s all we have for today, thanks for reading. We’ll unfortunately be out of town for a company retreat until next Thursday, but we’ll be back then to recap all the exciting CSGO news from the weekend, so stay tuned!
