PandaTV Claims Twitch Subathon Record from Ludwig
PandaTV’s 840-hour Twitch Subathon has smashed the record of PiG and Ludwig and hasn’t seen any signs of stopping. Ludwig’s 31-day subathon was bested by PiG’s 726-hour subathon, and once again, this record has been battered down by the Australian PandaTV. Known for his World of Warcraft content, the streamer has been going for 35 days and has done everything from sleep on stream, host talk show content, and playing games, of course. PandaTV’s subathon has peaked at 12k concurrent Twitch subscribers and is going strong.
Are These Healthy PandaTV’s Still Gave It a Shot
PandaTV was inspired to do his own Twitch subathon and break the record, after seeing PiG successfully best Ludwig. Seeing another Aussie succeed spurred the WoW streamer on, and here we are! As of today, he broke 840 hours live and joked that every extra hour in the subathon is keeping him in “Twitch prison,” and that he wants it to end. At this rate, it’s going to go on for a very long time.

But we just broke the 35 days time for the #subathon @Twitch_ANZ @Twitch
Thank you @x5_PiG again for the inspiration my friend pic.twitter.com/duoEaeOihY
PandaTV recently spoke about the subathon on Twitch and what inspired him to go for the record:
“I’ve been really stubborn over the last nine years streaming full time of not ‘promoting myself enough’ or ‘selling out’ as Twitch chat says. So I said to myself for this subathon, I’ll really try to push it as much as I can.”
He originally thought it might only go on for a week, but it’s continued to move closer and closer to the current (now broken) record. He keeps on going strong, thanks to the many sub goals that have been created. With goals that were pretty unique from the start, more and more keep piling up as time goes on. It sounds like PandaTV’s genuinely enjoying the time spent with his community, breaking the Twitch subathon record.
PandaTV’s even got other stretch goals in mind if it goes on farther, and let’s be honest – it feels like it’s going to hit all of them. How long will this go on? Until the timer runs out, so says PandaTV. It could last a whole other month at this rate. There’s really no telling. According to PandaTV:
“We will ride this out as long as we can! I hope people have enjoyed it as much as I have. It feels like the Truman Show.”
Other streamers are seeing the value in these kinds of exceedingly long subathon Twitch streams, but are they mentally or physically healthy? That’s one thing that’s certainly up for debate. As long as streamers aren’t staying up for days at a time, are eating and staying hydrated, it’s fine to stream as long as they feel comfortable doing so. It does sound like a bordering unhealthy gimmick though, and it could lead to very dangerous behavior. People can certainly push themselves too hard doing things like this for views and subs.
