Overwatch Halloween Event Is Now Available
With Halloween right around the corner, Blizzard is celebrating in the only way they know how: Overwatch Halloween Terror! They’re releasing a couple of fantastic new cosmetic items while also bringing old ones back. And if you’ve been looking for a reason to queue up, you’re in luck! Winning a couple of games per week will grant you three bonus skins, icons and sprays free of charge!
Weekly Challenges
First, we must mention the three skins that are up for grabs: Inferno Junkrat, Vampire Baptiste, and Demon Hunter Sombra. To unlock them, you must participate in weekly challenges.
The premise is rather simple — win three games in Quick Play, Competitive or Arcade to unlock a player icon. Win six, and you’ll get a hero-specific spray. Win nine, and a slick new skin is yours! Rinse and repeat three times, and you’ll unlock everything the event has to offer!
Here’s a breakdown of each week:
Junkenstein’s Revenge
One of the more engaging Co-Op vs. AI modes in Overwatch must be Junkenstein’s Revenge. While it can get a bit stale after a while, it’s the perfect way to cool off after a couple of competitive games. Taking down hordes of AI-controlled enemies is as satisfying as it sounds, especially if you get your hands on a hero you can show off on.
Cosmetic Items
As with every new event, there’s a slew of new cosmetic items!
Skins
Emotes
Intros
There’s a lot to like in Overwatch Halloween Terror this year, especially if you’re into spooky/Halloween-themed cosmetic items. Warlock Ashe, Will-O’-Wisp Tracer and Demon Orisa stand out from the crowd, but it all boils down to personal preference.
That’s it for our Overwatch Halloween event breakdown! The 2019 Halloween Terror is available now through November 4th. Finally, if you want to go over the event more officially, you can click here to go over to Blizzard’s official event breakdown page.
And lastly, Overwatch is now available worldwide on Nintendo Switch! We’re talking about a full-fledged port with all the standard bells and whistles, along with a couple of console-specific bonuses like qyro-aiming! It’s running in 30 FPS in both handheld as well as docked mode, with dynamic resolution kicking in whenever necessary to maintain steady performance.
While it might not sound all that great, most people online are raving about the whole experience. If you’re looking for Overwatch action while on the go, this is as good as it’s going to get!
