OpTic LA and Chicago Reveal New Roster

by in Call of Duty | Oct, 24th 2019

After weeks of waiting and the very visible departure of their former players and staff, OpTic LA has finally unveiled the new roster for their 2020 Call of Duty League run.

The new roster will consist of TJHaLy, Dashy, JKap, Kenny, and SlasheR, with Muddawg serving as the team’s general manager.

The announcement by OpTic was met with a surprising amount of excitement online given the general public disdain for OpTic in the past six months. Many claimed this could be one of the strongest line-ups in the league, while others remarked how they might return to being OpTic fans with this roster.

Not everything was positive when it came to the OpTic LA roster announcement, however, as many expressed concern over recent reports that Dashy had tried to force a trade to the Chicago squad.

Dashy looked like he didn’t want to be with the team. He steadily looked down and slumped his shoulders, and was the only member of the team not to smile.

There are fears that his negative morale may impact the team’s performance during the season. As this roster begins to win game after game, his mood will start to improve, only further bringing up the team.

Chicago Reveals Roster, Takes Fire at Crimsix

While OpTic was basking in their new roster’s 15-minutes of fame, the attention quickly shifted over to Chicago after the team there also dropped their roster announcement video this morning on Twitter, leaving quite a bombshell in its wake.

Titled THE FINAL GOODBYE, the video recaps the end of Hecz’s time with the original OpTic, taking a look back at all the good times the org had, before jumping into a reveal of the new Chicago line-up featuring Scump, FormaL, Arcitys, Envoy, and Gunless.

The announcement was an apparent dig at OpTic and the struggles owners Immortals have had maintaining its legacy going into franchising, with Hecz saying at one point in the video, “no one will ever again be OpTic.”

Meanwhile, Scump took a dig at Crimsix’s recent beef with him and the team, mocking his line about “never forgiving and never forgetting” at the end of the video.

They’re clear shots fired at the other parties and set the stage for what could be the greatest rivalries in the franchise era.

Whether they can walk the walk or will flounder remains to be seen, but you can bet this upcoming year will be one of the most hyped in Call of Dut history.
