OnePlus Announces PUBG Mobile Tournament, OnePlus Domin8
Fnatic and Oneplus announced a brand new tournament for their community that’s on the way in June 2020. OnePlus Domin8 will feature a set of PUBG Mobile exhibition matches for the OnePlus/PUBG Mobile community in particular. This will also be the first time that the community will be able to virtually interact with the pro gamers of the scene, as well as Indian cricket players.
Cricket Stars and Esports
Cricket? I haven’t thought about that since the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie from when I was a kid! It’s a big deal though, and OnePlus picked up some pretty big names in the Indian scene to show for Domin8.
Indian cricketers like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Smriti Mandhana, Yuzvendra Chahal in a brand new avatar alongside pro gamers like Dynamo, Ahsaas Channa and Fnatic gamers like Sc0ut, Owais, Nixon, Ash, Franky, and Ronak compete in a one-of-a-kind PUBG Mobile exhibition match.
The ability to engage and interact with these big names has to be a fun time for the OnePlus community. Not to mention they’ll be able to play with these huge names. The top all-rounder or MVP of each match is also eligible to win a OnePlus 8 Pro 5G, which is their latest and greatest device. They will also be awarded the “Hypertasker of the Match” title.
If you’re a member of the Red Cable Club, you can register for the event here. The actual event takes place on June 2 at 6 p.m., so don’t miss out if you’re in the region and want to join in.
“At OnePlus, the community is at the heart of everything that we do and we have continuously strived to deliver unique and innovative experiences to your community,” said Siddhant Narayan, head of marketing for OnePlus India. “OnePlus is constantly expanding boundaries of marketing and consumer engagements with these distinctive community-first campaigns. We hope this will be a fun, special activity that our community will truly enjoy.”
This isn’t the first big fan engagement project OnePlus has had since the OnePlus 8 Series launch, but this might be the most interesting one to esports fans. The ability to play with some of the major Fnatic members of the PUBG Mobile scene, not to mention popular cricketers, OnePlus Domin8 is shaping up to be quite an exciting time.
“Fnatic believes in bringing new experiences to its players and fans,” said Fnatic Nemo. “It is a pleasure to partner with OnePlus and bring this unique experience to the India PUBG Mobile and cricket community.”
I do like the OnePlus phones, even if I don’t have one myself. PUBG Mobile is huge in India as well, so this move and event make sense. Perhaps they will continue to merge traditional sports stars with esports squads to bring people closer together in a virtual sense.
