Olofboost Returns, ENCE Roster Change, NiP Under Fire – CS:GO Daily Recap 8/19/2019
Welcome back to another exciting day of CS:GO news! Today we’ve got a look at the new roster swap for ENCE, more on the drama surrounding NiP, a look at the team’s near-disastrous requalification campaign for the Pro League, and a peek at the new olofboost.
As always, we’ve got a lot to cover today, so let’s dive on in.
ENCE Confirms Roster Swap
Continuing our coverage from last week, we got confirmation from DeKay yesterday that Sunny will be joining ENCE after the Major, taking the place of Aleksib.
The move will likely come as a surprise to many fans, as Aleksi was a rather strong performer on the squad.
According to Jake’s sources near the team, though, it appears that the reason for dismissal was due to his lack of motivation since being told he’d be kicked if he didn’t improve his mental attitude.
At the time of this writing, Aleksi does not appear to have any other team offers.
The new squad will also see Allu take over the official In-Game Leader (IGL) position, another surprise move considering the skill of Aerial and Xseven.
We’ll keep you updated as we have more on this story.
More NiP Drama
The drama and controversy around NiP continued this weekend as Fifflaren called out Heaton this weekend for his role in the scandal.
The team’s CEO, Niklas, also cleared his name over the weekend, placing the blame on Heaton and two other new figures in the team.
We’ll be doing a whole video on the new NiP drama tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.
The drama around the team didn’t end there, however, as GeT_RiGhT finally opened up on the whole controversy, if only slightly, on stream this weekend, calling out those following the situation who’d sent death threats to his friend “Potti.”
Potti, who Fifflaren had off-handedly mentioned the player in the tweet, but never connected him to the controversy, has been receiving threats over his friendship with Heaton, and has sparked concern from many associates of his.
We’d like to remind all of our readers, and those out there you know who are following this story elsewhere, to please let the proper authorities handle this situation.
Don’t threaten people involved, it’s not your place or your right to do so.
NiP Barely Requalifies for Pro League
Speaking of NiP, and on a more positive note, the team managed to successfully requalify for the ESL Pro League this past weekend at the very last minute.
The team started their campaign to reenter the esteemed league with a 2-0 victory over Turkey5 before falling 1-2 against Team Heretics and falling to the lower bracket.
There, the team fell again 1-2 against Windingo Gaming, setting them up for a match against Sprout in the Relegation promotion, which they again lost the Winner’s Bracket of 0-2.
The team finally got it together in the Loser’s Bracket, though, beating Team Spirit 2-0 before taking the last spot back into the Pro League over Team Heretics in a rematch that saw NiP win 2-1.
Congrats on the team for requalifying, but given how hard it was for them to get back in, we can’t say they’re too happy with the result. Not to mention, all the current NiP drama just makes the situation even worse.
The New Olofboost?
Our last story of the day comes from the Exploit Mafia, who’ve unveiled a new Olofboost on Overpass.
The boost, back by A site, allows a player to have coverage of both A and B at the same time, giving the CT side a strong coverage of the sites with ease.
It’s unclear at this time if pros will get a chance to use the new boost for the Major or if Valve will patch it out in time.
That’s all we have for today, thanks for reading. We’ll be back tomorrow with more CS:GO news, so stay tuned!
