Neymar Jr. Finally Joins Fortnite Season 6: How to Unlock Him
Epic Games has kept us waiting long enough but it is finally time for the latest battle pass skin to arrive in Fortnite Season 6. The Fortnite Neymar Jr. skin is finally here for players to unlock and check out!
Fortnite Neymar Jr. Skin Arrives as Season 6 “Secret” Skin
Nearly every season for the last five or so seasons of Fortnite battle royale have had a “secret” skin of some kind. Though they aren’t really a secret anymore, it all harkens back to the days of Deadpool in Season 2. That season saw the Merc With a Mouth invade Fortnite in several ways.
Players had to find the secret hideout and the challenges that were held there in order to know how to unlock this secret skin outfit. Since then, it has evolved into allowing for other superheroes like Aquaman and Wolverine, and also non-superheroes, but that did change some in Season 5.
That season surprised us a bit with The Mandalorian as a skin that you could unlock just by buying the battle pass. What you then had to do was complete further challenges to unlock the pieces of his armor, and that seemed like it was the replacement secret skin for a bit until the Predator surprisingly arrived.
Fortunately, while that was sort of a newer way of handling it, the older way of unlocking the secret skin through normal missions has returned with the Fortnite Neymar Jr. skin. It has arrived in the game today, Tuesday, April 27, and players are now able to start unlocking him.
It took a really long time as Epic Games teased with the launch of Season 6 that the famous soccer (or football, depending on where you are from) player would be coming to the season later on. It only took nearly seven weeks but he is finally here and available to be unlocked.
To help you with unlocking the Fortnite Neymar Jr. skin and all of the other themed items that come with this event, we are going to break down everything that you need to know about it, from how to unlock the skin itself to tips for every mission involved with it.
Full List of the Fortnite Neymar Jr. Quests
That’s right, the introduction of the Fortnite Neymar Jr. skin is all about returning to the roots of Wolverine and the other battle pass secret skins from past seasons, with players needing to complete specific missions in order to unlock various themed items, including the new outfit.
There are some requirements, though, that are necessary before we go any further in this guide. You should know that these quests are only available to players who have the paid battle pass in Season 6, so free battle pass players will not be able to access these quests.
Without the quests, you will not be able to unlock the Fortnite Neymar Jr. skin. So, if you are interested in it, be sure to go ahead and purchase the battle pass if you haven’t already. Once you have that, you will then have the chance to progress through the various quests available.
Speaking of which, we have compiled all of the Fortnite Neymar Jr. quests below, so that you won’t have to go through the trouble of the sometimes frustrating UI in the game to find them:
- Talk to one of the island soccer players
- Complete three quests given by the island soccer players
- Complete five quests given by the island soccer players
- Drop kick the soccer ball toy at least 500 meters while wearing the Neymar Jr. outfit
- Score a goal with the soccer ball toy while wearing the Neymar Jr. outfit
- Eliminate three opponents while wearing the Neymar Jr. outfit
There are six quests in total for you to do and each of them will give you a very special reward in the process, ranging from a new emote to a new back bling to even the Fortnite Neymar Jr. skin itself. Some of these are a bit confusing or hard to understand from a glance, which is where we come in. Here’s how to complete all six of the main quests for the Neymar Jr. event in Fortnite Season 6.
Where to Find Island Soccer Players
The first and most important quest that we have thus far is where to find the soccer players on the island. If you don’t know where the soccer player NPCs are located, you will not be able to continue this series of quests and you will certainly not be able to get the new outfit.
There are three new soccer player-themed NPCs that you can find around the island in three different spots. Fortunately, they are pretty easy to locate as all three of them are found on a soccer pitch with a goal right there for you to practice your kicks.
The first soccer player NPC location might be one that you are totally unsurprised about. Yes, there is a soccer NPC on the huge soccer field on the southern side of Pleasant Park. This soccer field has been in existence for so long at this named location so it is no surprise that one of the NPCs is there.
As for the other two spots, they are in new locations where there wasn’t a soccer field there previously. There is one at Holly Hedges on the eastern side of the town where you will find the little soccer field and one goal with a single NPC hanging out there.
And last but not least, there is the third and final soccer player on the island who is at Dirty Docks of all places. In the southeastern corner of the harbor, you will find this third soccer field randomly here in this tiny corner that can be obstructed by the view of the rest of the buildings.
If you have a hard time finding any of these spots, simply head to the point of interest and look for the chat icon on your minimap. You can even see this when you are gliding, and I highly recommend that you pick one of these spots and head there as soon as you hop out of the battle bus.
The first challenge asks you to talk to one of the soccer players on the island. So, we recommend that you do the Team Rumble for almost all of these missions as NPCs are available there and there are so few players that will be competing for the same three locations that can get hectic. Plus you might only meet your teammates, so you don’t have to worry about dying as much.
How to Complete Soccer Player Quests
The next mission that you will have is to complete three quests from the island soccer players. It doesn’t matter which player you go to and it doesn’t how many quests you get from the same NPC. You also don’t have to do this all in one match, so feel free to take your time.
This can be done in tandem with the first mission, so please do so. When you first talk to an NPC, be sure to take one of the two quests that they will have for you. What I’ve found doing this event is that they only give you roughly three different quest types in total.
The first type that you can find is to walk 300 meters on foot and that is it. The second is to get a goal with the soccer ball toy, and the third is to hit targets in the soccer net with the soccer ball toy. That is literally it for these NPCs, so they are pretty easy tasks.
You can usually only get two quests per NPC in one match so you will either have to do more than one match or talk to more than one of the NPCs in the same match. However, this is going to be tough to do as there are a lot of griefers out there that you need to worry about.
Not only are there players who head to these locations to take you out, but there are other griefers as well. Doing this in Team Rumble solves the first issue but it does not solve the second one. That one is that some players will challenge the NPCs to a duel immediately and kill them so no one can get their quests.
This is a problem that I ran into about two-thirds of the times that I visited the soccer players on the island while completing this myself. Fortunately, only about once or twice did someone actually completely kill the NPC and prevent me from doing the quest. If they lose or run away, the NPC remains and you can talk to them again.
What you need to do here is complete three of the quests from the NPCs and you will unlock the Neymar Jr. Matador loading screen. But I know what we are all here for and that is the new outfit. To get this, you need to complete the third quest in the line and that is to do five quests.
It counts from the previous one, so you just need to do two more if you’ve completed the second mission. Five quests in total doesn’t take too long, especially since they are rather simple. Running around can only take you like two minutes to complete and the soccer-themed ones are easy as well.
How to Unlock the New Soccer Ball Toy and Drop Kick It
But once you unlock the Fortnite Neymar Jr. skin finally, the story is not over just yet. There are still three more missions that you need to do and one of them is especially important since it comes with the extra skin style that we know many players are gunning for.
First up, we have a quest where you need to drop kick the soccer ball toy 500 meters in total. To do this, you just need to use the emote while you are playing as the Neymar Jr. skin that we just unlocked. 500 meters is quite a lot, though, so it may take you some time to do this one.
As mentioned, unlocking the soccer ball toy is going to only require you to do the first mission in the series, so you should already have it by the time you have the Neymar Jr. skin. With that emote, you can do this by just repeating it over and over. You may need to be in front of a soccer goal for this to work, though, so keep that in mind.
Completing this quest will grant you the special Joia Trophy back bling that you will then be able to equip on your character. It is part of the Neymar Jr. line of Icon Fortnite items, so if you want to complete the full set, this will be the next goal for you.
How to Score a Goal With the Soccer Ball Toy
The next one is to score a goal with the soccer ball toy as Neymar Jr. First, make sure that you have this new skin equipped and then enter any match type. Head to one of the three soccer players and stand directly in front of the goal that is near them.
Then use the soccer ball toy emote and you will kick it in front of you towards the goal. If you are in front of the goal, it should be no problem to automatically score. Doing this will unlock the Jaguar Strike pickaxe that helps to further complete the Neymar Jr. set.
And last but not least, there is the quest where you need to eliminate three opponents while you are playing as Neymar Jr. This one is pretty self-explanatory as you just need three kills while you have this skin equipped on your character.
They don’t have to be all in the same match, either, so players who struggle with eliminations can take their time. But if you want to get it done fast, I found that Team Rumble is the best option since you can respawn if you are taken out and keep going. And then when you have three eliminations, you can leave the match and claim your reward instantly if you want.
Completing this mission will give you the Shhh emote that transforms Neymar Jr. into his special mech suit-looking form. It is awesome and highly recommended to unlock. But the party doesn’t stop here as there are more quests that you unlock just by doing this one.
You will unlock the Exhibition Epic quests, which task you with completing normal weekly challenges each week in order to get new Neymar Jr. rewards. In total, you need to complete 60 weekly quests to unlock all five of the rewards, including a new Exhibition style for the Neymar Jr. outfit and items that turn them into a more yellowish color.
