New Football Game UFL to Contest FIFA Dominance
It’s not every day that we hear news about a proper AAA football title. EA, with their FIFA franchise, and Konami, with their ISS/PES/eFootball franchise, have been dominating the niche ever since its inception. True, there have been other football games out there, but none boasted AAA production quality… until today, that is! The new football game UFL is one of the most interesting reveals on Gamescom. It promises to contest EA and Konami’s dominance with free-to-play and fair-to-play mottos being splashed around as direct punches to the aforementioned duo.

The game is already gaining massive traction! West Ham is the first notable sponsorship, having appeared in the reveal trailer at Gamescom.
In addition to the Premier League giants, the new football game UFL has partnered up with FIFPro and will have lots of licenses for players and teams.
“We are proud to be partnering with West Ham United football club,” said Eugene Nashilov, CEO at Strikerz Inc.
“These are exciting times for us to announce our highly-anticipated video game in collaboration with West Ham United. We will share more on our partnership in the near future.”
That’s not where the deals end! New football game UFL has also partnered up with Hashtag United, one of the biggest players in the world of digital football competitions.
With a focus on player skill and online competitions (read esports), Hashtag United is exactly the type of organization UFL needs to keep on signing to raise the hype ahead of the release.
Created by a new studio called Strikerz Inc., UFL will run in Unreal Engine and be available across all platforms. The game has been in development for more than five years, and we’re rightly expecting a good AAA experience.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know anything about the release date.
That’s everything we know about the game at the moment! The release date ought to be far away. Probably in time for the start of the 2022/23 football season, from the looks of things. We have no gameplay footage, no game mode information, nothing! It has to be at least another year before this project sees the light of day, though we could be wrong!
