New Fiddlesticks Rework Details Announced
The Fiddlesticks rework is right around the corner, which is why Riot decided to give us an inside, in-depth look at the entire process from start to finish. We still don’t know how well Fiddle will perform, but if we were to judge a book by its cover, it’s fair to say that we’re in for yet another spectacular rework.
Outdated Champion Gets Reworked
Riot has been on a tear over the last year or so. Whenever they announce a rework there’s always a cause for celebration. They try to do the champion justice, from ideation to execution. They don’t always stick the landing, but at least they succeed more often than not.
The original Fiddle was always a fascinating champion, although he certainly didn’t look (or play) like a threat. Instead, he was just a ragged ol’ scarecrow. Nothing more, nothing less.
His original color scheme also needed a bit of work as he looked more like a concept from the Wizard of Oz rather than the “Harbinger of Doom.” It’s not that he wasn’t impactful or strong, but rather that his overall appearance and ability kit left a lot to be desired. They weren’t in sync with the story Riot wanted to tell.
In short, he was just one of many outdated champions who couldn’t find a place in today’s League of Legends.
The rework, however, is making him a lot more terrifying. Perhaps that’s even an understatement. Riot perhaps described him best:
“Fiddlesticks is a name a child would coin; something you might invoke around a campfire to scare your friends.”
That kind of narrative and aura are at the core of the redesign and resulted in a spectacular aesthetic. The Fiddlesticks rework looks like an evil being that would devour its prey. Riot wants to make his abilities revolve around the concept of fear. They’re certainly doing all they can to make such a goal into reality.
Fiddlesticks Rework Highlights
Some of the most important highlights:
- In essence, the new Fiddlesticks won’t be any more complex than the old one.
- His ultimate “Crowstorm” will remain the same, although it’s getting changed in certain ways, which will, in turn, allow Fiddle to stay hidden and ambush his prey in new and unexpected ways.
- Fiddlesticks is an “inhuman entity” without any internal organs or vocal chords. The sound he makes is a “crude mimicry of people” he once killed.

One user on Reddit synced the video showcasing Fiddle’s ultimate to the audio Riot also provided. It’s a haunting combination.
It sounds and looks like impending doom coming your way, like all hell is about to break loose. The crows on top are just a bonus. By first hearing the sound, you know that Fiddle is about to engage, but if you can’t see him, you’re probably going to start panicking.
If he plays as well as he looks, Riot will have yet another home run on their hands.
No release date was announced. But, we do know that Fiddle is next in line, now that Sett has officially hit live servers. In any case, we’re bound to learn more over the coming weeks.
