MuTeX Denies Warzone Cheating Allegations

by in Call of Duty | Jul, 8th 2021

This is a really bad time for MuTeX to receive cheating accusations in Warzone. This isn’t saying he’s guilty of cheating, but cheating in Warzone is a serious problem right now. Cronus is a program that can be used to cheat in Call of Duty, but it also has uses in the CoD pro scene for LANs. The worst problem in Warzone right now is cheating (other than bugs), and MuTeX is one of the biggest names in Warzone, period. A streamer with a variety of world records, he’s a serious deal. Back on July 7th, showed his streaming PC’s desktop. On it was Cronus Max.

His explanation makes sense, but what is it?

A Necessary Evil

For those who don’t know, Cronus is a program that can be used to cheat. However, it also features a “Tournament Mode” setting. When Tournament Mode is on, all settings and features of your controller/PC that would give you an unfair advantage are disabled. That’s likely why it was used at CoD LAN events, to prevent accusations of cheating for people like MuTeX. These days, Cronus is used to cheat though, and it’s hard to track someone actually using it for evil purposes. With that in mind, it’s incredibly suspicious to see it on Cronus’ streaming PC.

MuTeX doesn’t use it for cheating in Warzone, he says. He claims to have forgotten it was there since he used it back in the days when he competed in CoD: WWII. You would use Cronus at home and get used to how it affects your performance in the game. That way, when you got to LAN, you were ready to play. Yes, that makes total sense. If true, that makes complete sense. MuTeX then went back to his stream to try and prove his innocence.

It is weird that Cronus was gone from his computer at this point, having likely deleted it. If he’s not using it, it’s no sense in deleting something everyone knows is there. MuTeX also claims to show off his setup before every stream and often uses a handcam to make sure nobody can accuse him of cheating. We aren’t accusing MuTeX of cheating at all. A few of his decisions were sort of strange. It’s just a very inconvenient time for someone to have accusations of cheating come up, especially someone as skilled as MuTeX in Warzone. It’s likely this will pass, and the streamer will prove that he’s innocent of any wrongdoing. MuTeX is consistent in his gameplay and does a lot to prove he’s on the level and isn’t cheating. His explanation and logic are sound, but it’s just a really bad time for something like this to come up.
