NEW MTG Arena Promo Codes From War of the Spark Event
Magic: The Gathering Arena is the premiere way to play the beloved decades-old card game digitally. While it isn’t the only version of the card game in video game, it is without a doubt the best and most accessible way for newcomers to the series to get involved. This is thanks, in part, to the widely accessible MTG arena promo codes!
Unlike its fellow digital card game Magic Online, it features a modern design that is constantly up to date with the latest sets of cards available for play in the most streamlined matchmaking format around. This has led to immense success for the game, despite being only available on PC and in early access.
Part of the reason behind its success is the fact that it’s always shaking up gameplay features for players who use it, such as events and the like that you can’t experience anywhere else. One such event is the War of the Spark Chronicles limited time event that is available exclusively through MTG Arena.
For those of you who simply want the codes you can find them in the table immediately below, however if you’d like more details on the event read on.

War of the Spark Chronicles Event
The War of the Spark Chronicles limited time event is one of several events that have happened in the game thus far with more surely on the way in the future. The event, at the time of publishing this, is about to conclude its time in the game but there’s still time to enjoy it.
The War of the Spark Chronicles event is running for five weeks in total, taking place within the months of May and June 2019. It will conclude right near the end of June and is constantly changing. Each week, there is a new event mode for players to take on in the game.
Each of these five event modes come with a new match format for players to play, some that will be familiar to veteran players and others that are brand new. If you participate in these event modes and win matches during the week it’s available, you will receive awesome rewards.
The special theme of these rewards is mostly the gorgeous stained glass planeswalker card styles. There are three new ones given to players for free if they are able to get so many wins during the event. And the best part is that it’s going on for five weeks, offering 15 different stained glass card styles for players to enjoy.
These are the rewards that you can get each week during the five weeks of the event. For starters, if you are able to achieve three wins during the week, you will receive the first stained glass card style. At five wins, you will get 200 gold to spend in the store.
At seven wins in total, you will then get the second glass card style. And the fourth and final reward for the event requires you to get 10 wins in the week, which is the third and final stained glass card style for that week. The best part is that these rewards reset each week for the five weeks the event is going on.
This is actually a massive improvement over what the rewards were before the huge change a few weeks ago when the total required wins to get all of the rewards were 15 rather than the 10 wins you only need now. The War of the Spark Chronicles is also different from previous events in the game, too.
Any player is able to join in on the game’s festivities without paying any real world money or gold. It’s free and available to everyone, which is great since the game itself is already free to play. This is an amazing way to get some free card styles for your favorite planeswalkers in the latest expansion.
However, even still, that’s not all that you can get from the War of the Spark Chronicles limited time event. Those five weeks only cover 15 of the 36 planeswalkers that were added in the recent expansion set. There are five more that you can get for free without doing anything.
And we mean literally nothing. The only thing you have to do is take one of your MTG Arena promo codes from among the ones listed here and enter it in the game to receive these stained glass planeswalker card styles for free.
It’s worth noting, though, that these are only card styles and not the cards themselves so you will need to own the card, too. Without further ado, let’s take a look at all five weeks and each of the individual MTG Arena promo codes that you can use right now.
War of the Spark Chronicles MTG Arena Promo Code Week 1
Unfortunately, the week one event is already done so you can’t enjoy its limited time match format or receive any of its free rewards if you missed them. However, what is still available right now and through the end of this event is the MTG Arena promo code for week one.
Here is the week one MTG Arena promo code:
- OVERTHEMOON
Entering this code exactly as it says above will net you the Arlinn, Voice of the Pack stained glass planeswalker card style for free. This is great for those players who are fans of using this character in their deck or just want to add it to your collection.
During week one of the limited time event, players had the chance to use the Momir match format. This Ravnica at War week one event is no longer available but you can use the code still but act fast so you don’t miss out on the free cosmetic item.
War of the Spark Chronicles MTG Arena Promo Code Week 2
Here is the week two MTG Arena promo code:
- INNERDEMON
Week two of this War of the Spark Chronicles event is also done like week one but you can still redeem the code above. Doing so will net you the Ob Nixilis, the Hate-Twisted planeswalker stained glass card style for your deck collection.
Week two of the Chronicles limited time event was No Escape. The match format for that week was the classic Pauper match format where players can only use common cards in their decks, ruling out tons of rare, uncommon, and Mythic rare cards that players would otherwise use. This updated Pauper match format also banned the Persistent Petitioners card.
War of the Spark Chronicles MTG Arena Promo Code Week 3
Here is the week three MTG Arena promo code:
- SHIELDSUP
This week three free promo code will add the Teyo, the Shieldmage stained glass planeswalker card style to your deck collection. Like the previous two weeks, the actual event is done already but you can still nab this card style for a limited time.
Week three of the Chronicles limited time event was called Storm the Citadel and featured the Singleton match format. This classic match style forces players to only have one of each card minus lands and a few notable exceptions.
War of the Spark Chronicles MTG Arena Promo Code Week 4
Here is the week four MTG Arena promo code:
- WRITTENINSTONE
This week four free promo code will grant you the Nahiri, Storm of the Stone stained glass planeswalker card style for your deck collection. This fourth week of the event ended last week so you just barely missed out on getting the other rewards and participating if you’re reading this.
Week four of the Chronicles limited time event was Commence the Endgame and featured the Counters match format. This interesting and somewhat complex match format will add a loyalty counter each turn to your planeswalker and plus one/plus one to creatures.
War of the Spark Chronicles MTG Arena Promo Code Week 5
Here is the week five MTG Arena promo code:
- ENLIGHTENME
You can use the fifth and final free promo code above to unlock the Narset, Parter of Veils stained glass planeswalker card style. Thankfully, this week just started and will later this week so you can still enjoy playing through its event mode and receive its rewards.
The fifth and final week of the War of the Spark Chronicles limited time event is Gideon’s Sacrifice. It will last June 21-June 28. It features the match format Ravnica Constructed. This is a fairly simple format that just restricts players to only using cards from the recent Guilds of Ravnica, Ravnica Allegiance, and War of the Spark expansions.
The only exception to this rule is that Gates Ablaze is banned from being used during this fifth week of the event.
How to Enter a MTG Arena Promo Code
Now that you have all five of the free codes, you need to be sure to know how to actually enter the code in the game. What you are going to want to do is boot up the game first and foremost, and reach the main menu for it.
Once you are on the main menu of the game, you are going to want to look for the Store page tab. Head to the in-game store and look for the promo code space inside the store. There, you will want to enter the codes above into the provided space and you will receive the stained glass planeswalker card styles.
It is worth noting that the promo codes are case sensitive so keep that in mind. You will need to enter the codes exactly as we typed them for you above. Capitalize the letters that are capitalized (all of them in this case) and keep the lowercase letters lowercase.
You also need to know that you can only enter and redeem the stained glass card style rewards one time per code on your account. Once you have redeemed it, you can’t use that code again. Not that it matters, though, since these are cosmetic items only.
Redeeming these promo codes will not give you the base card itself. You will get its card style, though, even if you don’t own the actual card just yet. From there, you will need to buy or craft the card so that you are able to use the card style on it.
War of the Spark Chronicles End Date
The War of the Spark Chronicles limited time event is coming to a close soon. Though it has lasted for well over a month now, it won’t be going on for much longer. The event began on May 23 last month and every seven days, the week would switch to a new event mode.
Now we are on the fifth and final week of Gideon’s Sacrifice. The entire limited time event will come to an end when this last week concludes on Friday, June 28, 2019. Unfortunately, we don’t currently know when these five promo codes will expire so we recommend you just login and redeem them now if possible.
This is to ensure that you don’t miss out on getting any of these five rewards. It is possible that the free promo codes might last beyond the end of the actual event but that might also not be the case. It isn’t impossible since the fifth code was just released for players to use.
These five codes are just a few of the free Magic: The Gathering Arena promo codes that Wizards of the Coast has given out. It periodically gives out codes for players to use in celebration of major milestones, events, and so on. As such, be sure to always stay tuned here for any future free MTG Arena promo codes for the game.
