MTG Arena Omniscience Draft Limited Time Mode Announced
Wizards of the Coast has announced yet another limited time event for Magic: The Gathering Arena. Though the digital video game version of the beloved trading card game is just about to end one event, it seems that players won’t have to wait too long for another event soon.
The next limited time event for the game on PC is the MTG Arena Omniscience Draft but it won’t last long. Though the War of the Spark Chronicles event is still going on at the time of publishing this, players will have a short period of rest before the next event starts.
Unfortunately, this is a paid event, though, unlike the one happening at this time. But it’s more than worth it if you are looking for a unique event that allows you to do some epic stuff in the game that’s quite unlike any other draft or match format that’s happened in the past.
Basis of the Draft Event

The crux of the MTG Arena Omniscience Draft limited time event is based around the card from last year’s Magic Core Set 2019 called Omniscience. For those who don’t know about this particular card, it’s a blue color card that is quite pricey to summon on the field.
It costs a whopping 10 mana in total to summon, three of which are required to be blue colored. But using up all of that mana to summon this card is certainly worth the sacrifice for what it does for you for the remainder of the match you are in.
It allows you to accomplish the unbelievable task of being able to cast spells from your hand without any mana cost whatsoever. Have five spell cards in your hand right now? Go ahead and use them without a care in the world since you don’t have to spend any mana to summon them.
It’s a crazy spell card that is super useful for those decks that are filled to the brim with powerful and high-costing spell cards. You will be able to decimate your opponent over and over with spell after strong spell with no worries about how much mana you have left.
How the MTG Arena Omniscience Draft Will Work
Well, the MTG Arena Omniscience Draft limited time mode takes that amazing idea from the card and expands upon it in an even crazier way. During the entire draft mode and in each match you do during it, you are able to cast as many spells as you want on the battlefield with no mana costs at all.
For the most part, the MTG Arena Omniscience Draft event mode functions the same way as you would expect a limited time draft to. Players take turns selecting a card from some booster packs until you have a deck to use. Of course, the removal of mana costs for spells changes this up significantly.
If you want, you could choose to alleviate land cards entirely from your draft deck and just go balls to the wall crazy with only spell cards to try and take out your opponent as quickly as possible. There is a difference, though, in this particular draft because you only start with three cards instead of the usual seven cards in your hand.
For this reason, this, too, makes spell cards all the more important as you will want to be sure to select cards that allow you to draw plenty more cards from your deck quickly so you can destroy your enemy. Last but not least, the final interesting thing about the MTG Arena Omniscience Draft is you get one mana color per turn for casting mana abilities.
MTG Arena Omniscience Draft Release Date
The MTG Arena Omniscience Draft limited time mode is a fantastic mode that shakes up the rigid formula of typical draft modes. It will be great for everyone to check out, especially if you’re burned out on the usual scheme of things. But it won’t last for long.
The War of the Spark Chronicles event comes to a close after five weeks of intense battling and rewards tomorrow, Friday, June 28. But this particular event won’t make you wait long as it will immediately begin the same day and will only last through the weekend until July 1.
Unfortunately, you will have to pay to access this event, which can be done using in-game currency and real world money. It costs either 5,000 gold or 750 gems to enter the event and enjoy it. We recommend that you act fast so that you don’t miss out on any of the crazy mana-free spellcasting.
