Wizards of the Coast has announced the latest limited-time event that will be coming to Magic: The Gathering Arena very soon. It is the latest form of the metagame events that we have seen previously near the release of a new expansion or card set for the digital version of the popular card game.

MTG Arena Throne of Eldraine Metagame Event Revealed

This time around, players will be able to enjoy the MTG Arena Throne of Eldraine Metagame Event very soon. As the name states, this is a new metagame event in celebration of the latest expansion to drop for the game: the fairy tale and knights-themed Throne of Eldraine.

It is no surprise that we are getting a new MTG Arena Throne of Eldraine Metagame Event. It allows players to show off their new Standard decks and see what comes out on top. This is especially important considering how game-changing this set is.

As with every new fall card set, this latest expansion takes the Standard that we had grown accustomed to already and flips it on its head. A whopping four of the current sets in Standard were removed for good from that format to make room for this expansion and the ones that will follow next year.

As such, the current Standard play is vastly different from what it was just a month ago. This doesn’t include changes to the meta that come from the various cards and new mechanics introduced as well. Food tokens, the new Adventure cards, and more have shifted the meta significantly, creating whole new decks and vastly changing existing ones.

The MTG Arena Throne of Eldraine Metagame Event will be an excellent way for players to try out their new and improved decks to see how well they will do against other decks. Players have had a couple of weeks now to test out their new cards and collect what they can in time for this tournament.

Throne of Eldraine Metagame Event General Details, Start Date

It will begin this Friday, October 11, and will run for a few short days until Monday, October 14. Players will have the entire weekend to test out their decks and see how well they do in the event. You have just a couple more days to construct the best possible Standard deck that you can come up with.

The actual MTG Arena Throne of Eldraine Metagame Event will have players battle it out against other players online in a best of three-match format. For this event, players will need to create their best deck that has a minimum of 60 cards with the option to have up to 15 cards in the sideboard.

Players will receive rewards during the short event, depending on how well they do in the matches. The more wins that a player gets, the better rewards they will receive up to an impressive 30 booster packs from the latest expansion and much more.

Unfortunately, players are only allowed a single loss during the event. So, if you happen to get two losses, you will be immediately removed from the competition. You will get rewards based on how many wins you got during that time.

Throne of Eldraine Metagame Event Entry Fee and Rewards System

Of course, this is one event that is for a short time, so, unfortunately, players will need to shell out some gold or cash to get in on all the meta action. It costs 2,000 gold for the entry fee or 400 gems if you are willing to spend real-world currency.

That isn’t a whole lot of gold, so it is certainly possible to get into the event just by doing the daily quests each day during this week. Or, you can earn some currency by getting wins in the current Mastery System.

The rewards begin with those who participate in the event and don’t get any wins. Just for showing up, you will receive 500 gold, which is a fourth of the amount required to get into the event, so you are losing some currency in the process.

The same can be said for those players who get one win in the event because they will only receive 1000 gold, which is still half of the amount that you must pay to enter the limited-time event. At two wins, though, the rewards get a little bit better with more gold and an additional prize.

Players who can get two wins before they get their second and final loss in the event will receive 1500 gold. They also receive one booster pack from the recent expansion that just launched. It is at three wins, though, where players will start to see some profit from this event, so it should be the goal for everyone going in.

Getting three wins before getting kicked from the event will net the player 2000 gold, which breaks even on the amount required for the event. It profits the player with three booster packs from the most recent fall set rather than just getting one, which is a nice bonus.

It only gets better from there for players who can get four wins in the MTG Arena Throne of Eldraine Metagame Event. They will receive 2500 gold, which is more than what it costs to get in, and five booster packs. It only grows exponentially from there for those who can get five wins.

At five wins, players get 3000 gold for doing well and 10 booster packs from the latest card set. At six wins in the event, players will receive 4000 gold and a whopping 20 booster packs from the set. The final reward comes to those players who can get seven wins from the event.

The maximum wins of seven in this limited-time event will grant players a whopping 5000 gold for doing so amazing and 30 booster packs to get their collection going. If you can reach this milestone, you will get, necessarily, 240 cards from the most recent expansion alone.

That is sure to give you a nice chunk of all of the new cards in the set. It is excellent for those who are looking to bolster their ranks without spending too much money on cards. We recommend you finish up your decks now as the event is quickly approaching and will begin this Friday, October 11. It will only last through the weekend, ending on October 14.
