Modern Warfare Season 5 Twitch Drops Are Here

by in Call of Duty | Aug, 12th 2020

Activision has announced that players can get new free items in Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone. These items don’t cost anything except your time (and even a bit up in the air). That’s because these items are from the new Modern Warfare Season 5 Twitch Drops.

Modern Warfare Season 5 Twitch Drops Revealed

The latest Modern Warfare Season 5 Twitch Drops have been revealed, following up on a trend that has been going on for a few seasons now for both Modern Warfare and Call of Duty Warzone. It is basically expected for these rewards to come when a new season begins in those games.

With the fifth season’s launch, players are now able to start getting Modern Warfare Season 5 Twitch Drops. These new items are free to anyone who completes the correct steps, and they are available, beginning today, Wednesday, Aug. 12.

The new Twitch Drops items in Season 5 will only be available for about a week until next Wednesday, Aug. 19. If you are interested in picking up these free items without spending anything at all except your valuable time, then be sure to grab them on Twitch while you still can.

Four items will be part of the Twitch Drops event that is happening right now at the beginning of Season 5. Those four items are exclusive to this limited-time event and given out here as far as we know, so collectors should not miss out on these.

What the Twitch Drops Items Are

The four items begin with the first one: the Smoke Up sticker item that players can get exclusively through the Modern Warfare Season 5 Twitch Drops. This sticker item is the first for players to get through this event and have a purple smoke spray can sticker.

The second item that players will get through this Twitch Drops event is a single hour of double experience, specifically, for weapons. Unfortunately, this will only affect your weapons in the games and not your account’s overall level experience.

Though the double weapon experience is only for one hour, this is still a great item to give out and will be useful for those who want to get rewards for a specific weapon type faster. The third item that you can get is a unique calling card.

This isn’t just any calling card, either, as you can get an animated one through the Twitch Drops. The Big Bang animated calling card is exclusive to this event, and you’ll only be able to get it here. The fourth and final exclusive cosmetic item is a weapon charm.

How to Enable Twitch Drops

Players will be able to get the Blast Check weapon charm through the Twitch Drops this season. It features a mini rocket ship that is red on the bottom and has a red and white checkered pattern on the main body of the ship. It is a sweet little charm that you can attach to your weapons.

As for how you get these Twitch Drops, you will need to make sure that you have a Call of Duty account. If you have been playing Modern Warfare and/or Warzone for a while now, you likely have one already, especially if you want to play cross-play with other platforms.

All you need to do is head to your Call of Duty account online, sign in, and then check your profile to ensure that you have a Twitch account linked. If you don’t, link one or create a new account and then link the two together. This is how you will be able to start earning these rewards.

But since they are Twitch Drops, you will need to spend time on Twitch to earn them for free. As such, you will need to make sure to go on Twitch on your preferred platform and then head on over to the Modern Warfare or the Call of Duty Warzone areas.

How to Earn These Free Items

Once you are there, look for some of the streamers playing either of those games at this time. Be sure to check on their streams and look for the marker that notes that drops are enabled for that particular stream. If you don’t see it on their stream, be sure to head elsewhere until you find one.

Once you have found an eligible streamer, all you need to do is sit back, relax, and watch them compete online. Receiving the four unique items requires you to watch an eligible stream for a certain time, so this will require you to have their stream open for a while.

The first item, the sticker, becomes available for you in the game after you have watched a single hour of Twitch. The second item is available after two hours, the third is three hours, and the fourth and final requires four hours of watching online.

Of course, if you are not wanting to spend four hours at once watching streams, you can watch some and then come back later in the week to watch the rest and so on.

You could also leave a partnered stream on one screen for four hours and do other stuff while not watching it, and that would work, too. Just make sure to fill the requirements before this event ends on Aug. 19.
