Mizkif Steps Back From Twitch After Break Up With Maya
Mizkif announced recently that he’s going to be taking a break from Twitch, and the break up of his relationship with Maya Higa. The two dated for two years after meeting over a PC building video of Maya’s. The two lived together for much of this relationship, and it appears to be very much mutual. If a relationship must end, it’s a nice change of pace for it to not be filled with drama and hateful words. What kind of break are Mizkif and Maya going to take from Twitch though? It’s a bit murky, but at least “ a couple of weeks”, according to the Twitlonger.
A “Long” Break from Twitch after the Maya/Mizkif Split
Mizkif posted a very simple Twitlonger in the early hours of this morning, making sure people know that there was “no event, no cheating, no drama that led to this decision. We mutually decided that this is what’s best for both of us in our current lives.” The two are also going to take a bit of a break from Twitch to process the breakup, and take care of themselves, which is a wise idea. The two both have massive followings, Mizkif with 1.6M, and Maya with 510K. There’s no sense to rush right back to content creation, their fans will surely understand.
According to a response in a Twitch chat though, Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo said, “I will not be streaming for a long time,” but there’s no real indicator of what “a long time” means. It means different things to different people. It’s been a long time since Mizkif’s taken a real step away from streaming anyway (early 2020 was the last significant time) when he took 10 days off. Perhaps it will only be two or three weeks until he’s back streaming. On a positive note, it doesn’t appear that there are any hard feelings, and the two are doing what they feel is best for them.
The comments section is taking it predictably hard though. Some of the comments in the tweet wished them both well, and others seem to feel genuine heartache for Mizkif and Maya as they break up and take some time from Twitch.
