Minecraft Dungeons Is Sending Players to The End With Free Update
Minecraft as a brand is still going strong, although it’s more than likely that the brand’s success is based on the fact that Minecraft is the best-selling game of all time. Regardless, Minecraft has been going out of its way to expand the game’s brand to new heights, launching Minecraft Earth, an AR experience that allows the players to build with blocks in AR on their phones, although the game has since been canceled. Another example of Minecraft’s outreach into more contemporary uses is with teaching tools, with Minecraft Education Edition being sold to schools to help students learn and collaborate with one another. Minecraft is also slated to be releasing a movie sometime within the next year, although its existence is the only thing that fans know about.
Regardless, one Minecraft game beyond the original has found a place in the hearts of gamers, and that is Minecraft Dungeons, a title more reminiscent of Diablo than of Minecraft. This top-down RPG game has four players fighting their way through the world of Minecraft in a story with epic proportions.
Fight Against the Arch-Illager
In the game, players will find themselves fighting against the Arch-Illager, a tiny villager who, after being abandoned, discovered an artifact called the Orb of Dominance and used it to fight back against those who wronged them. The player, or players if a team of four fight their way through the game together, go toe to toe with the Arch-Illager, fighting their legion of armies, as well as rescuing the villages that have fallen under the control of the magical menace.
By the end of the game, players will have stopped the Arch-Illager, and saved the world. However, the story isn’t over just yet, as the Season Pass continues the story past the ending of the game. After defeating and befriending the uncorrupted Arch-Illager, players will have noticed that the Orb of Dominance is now making its way around the Overworld, and its pieces are corrupting the world around it, sending players to Lush Jungles, Frozen Wastelands, and even the Nether.
However, it looks like the end is coming to Minecraft Dungeons, literally, as the final DLC of the game titled “Echoing Void” is going to be the final Story DLC for the game, and will let the player’s journey to the End Dimension.
It was confirmed in a blog post made on the Minecraft website that, while this DLC won’t be the last piece of new content for Minecraft Dungeons, it will be the final story DLC for the game, letting players finish what was started when the game released. After destroying the fragments of the Orb of Corruption in the base Minecraft Dungeons story, they’ll be taking the fight to The End.
New Endermen, Ultimate Edition Coming
Screenshots of the game show off a lot of interesting enemies, including Endermen that haven’t been seen before in a Minecraft game. One of these is shown to have multiple eyes, another one has massive arms, and one is glowing, with green material coming out of its back.
The Echoing Void DLC is going to be something new for Dungeons players and is going to give a satisfying conclusion to the ongoing story of Minecraft Dungeons. However, this isn’t going to be the end of the content coming to the game.
On top of this, for those who are wanting to get into Minecraft Dungeons, an ultimate edition of the game is going to come out the same day the DLC for the game is coming out, giving player’s all the more reason to pick up the game if they’re not sold on it in the first place.
Minecraft seems to be on a roll when it comes to its titles. However, it seems like it’s not going to be the last time that Minecraft is going to make another name for itself.
