Ludwig Gets Zain Banned on Twitch With NSFW Meme

by in Entertainment | Jun, 28th 2021

Zain sadly got banned on Twitch for a week thanks to a meme rename in Smash. Normally known as “Slippi”, Zain Naghmi of the Golden Guardians got renamed to an NSFW meme in Smash Bros. Melee, resulting in being banned on Twitch. Despite it being his first ban on Twitch, Zain wound up banned for a week, and it seems like both streamers had a good laugh about it. It’s still a week-long ban for a name change and one that isn’t terribly offensive in and of itself. The site itself is another matter.

Meme Challenge Gone Wrong (or Right)

Depending on how you look at this, it went wrong or very very right. The Golden Guardians challenged its audience on June 24th. They said that the most liked reply to the tweet by the end of the day gets to be Zain’s IGN instead of “Slippi” for a week. Enter Ludwig Ahgren, who simply linked to a very NSFW website, “Meatspin.com”. We don’t recommend searching out the site if you aren’t familiar with what it is. Either way, it’s not safe for work link.

Zain’s reply on Twitter was “At the end of the day Business is business,” and linked an image of a Marth vs. Marth, where instead of Slippi, Meatspin.com was the in-game name. Kudos to Zain to going through with it, but it’s definitely not an appropriate name to use on a stream. We understand Twitch banning Zain for it, but a week seems a trifle excessive. Though Ludwig won the contest, Zain lost a week’s worth of his Twitch revenue thanks to the incident.

“LMAOOO I won a Twitter contest and made zain change his tag to meatspin and he got banned on twitch for 7 days….EVERYONE GO FOLLOW @ZainNaghmi I RUINED HIM ROFL”

Even the Golden Guardians were good sports about it, so nobody wound up offended among the parties involved. Perhaps Ludwig will throw some subs Zain’s way to make up the difference, but it’s an honestly pretty strange situation. It is a confusing situation though. Amouranth and Indiefoxx were banned for 3 days for overtly sexual content, and Zain was banned for 7 for an (admittedly) offensive name in a game. Nobody is arguing Zain shouldn’t be banned, but it seems like the punishments didn’t fit the offenses.
