Logitech has just announced a brand-new gaming mouse designed and engineered specifically for MOBA, Battle Royale and MMO games — the Logitech G604 LIGHTSPEED! Now, esports-centric mice aren’t exactly a novelty at this point, but that doesn’t mean this gaming mouse isn’t worthy of our attention. On the contrary.

It seems like Logitech thought of everything this time around, and has been able to deliver a spectacular product, much like their Logitech G Pro. Speaking of the G Pro, it is one of the best gaming peripherals money can buy. However, it’s not exactly designed to give you any competitive edge or to make life a bit easier once those hectic in-game battles commence.

The Logitech G604, on the other hand, will give you an upper hand in your competitive adventures.

The Features

It has 15 fully programmable buttons, you can connect wirelessly or via Bluetooth, it’s packing Logitech’s stellar HERO 16K sensor, and it’s downright beautiful. Talk about a mesmerizing showpiece. With zero smoothing, filtering and acceleration, you’re getting positives of a wired mouse without any negatives. Wireless mice have gone a long way and are as good as their wired counterparts.

It comes with six distinct macro buttons on the left-hand side, meaning you can (as an example) bind all six items from your inventory. It has a dual-mode scroll wheel, and you can also click it on the sides if you need the maximum number of keybinds.

Perhaps best of all, you’re getting wonderful battery life. The Logitech G604 works off of just a single AA battery. You can get around 240 hours of non-stop gaming if you connect wirelessly using Logitech’s included USB dongle, or up to five and a half months if you connect via Bluetooth! You can also connect to two different devices (a desktop PC along with a laptop, for example). Switching between the two is just one click away.

The only downside is that it’s not ambidextrous, which means left-handed players are out of luck. And the mouse weighs around 135 grams with the battery inside, so it’s not exactly light. Then again, it all comes down to personal preference.

If your mouth is watering after reading all of this, you’re in luck! You can already pre-order the Logitech G604 for $99! Whether or not you actually need top-tier gaming peripherals is an entirely different matter. If you can maximize the many gains from such a mouse, then it’s a worthy investment. If not, then all these programmable buttons end up being nothing but a glorified gimmick.
