Lincolnshire to Receive New Esports Center Soon
New esports centers are popping up everywhere these days, and the UK is not exempt from this phenomenon! More than ever, companies want to lure gamers to their buildings, to grow an esports scene. PCSCuk Technology Centre is a part of this, bringing The Arcade Warehouse to Lincolnshire over the next few weeks.
Games for All Ages
In 2012, Caton Airey started PCSCuk Technology Centre, a tech store offering computers and other electronic devices. PCSCuk Technology wanted to start a place like The Arcade Warehouse from the word “go,” but they had to wait until their business was established.
Now that the company is financially stable, it’s time to expand. Enter The Arcade Warehouse! Caton himself said he’s always wanted to bring this sort of entertainment to Scunthorpe. Here’s his chance to go big.
Caton Airey had this to say to a local paper about the launch:
“I am a Scunthorpe lad myself. I have three kids, and whenever we want to go on a family day out we usually find ourselves leaving the town – which is a shame. This is a great town, and we just want to bring something that it doesn’t really have.
“Of course their are things to do here, but for entertainment, which the younger generation quite clearly love – there’s nothing like this here.”
In the next few weeks, Caton may have the local folks staying in the county rather than heading to Sheffield, Leeds or somewhere else for their gaming out. It will even have options for toddlers so that people can bring their kids.
Playing video games on high-quality PCs can be expensive. Not just everyone can afford it. But with Caton’s new building, this is a way for people to play at a low-cost and use the latest technology to do it. That’s such a great thing to see.
Family Is Fine, Options for Others
Hopefully, this will be a way for budding esports scenes for youth to crop up as well. This could be a spot for that sort of thing to happen. Family is very important to Caton, so he aims to have games and arcade setups for all ages. They will have over-18 nights for sure. But, the main goal is for families to have somewhere to game in a friendly atmosphere.
Caton went on to talk about what people can expect at The Arcade Warehouse, courtesy of PCSCuk Technology:
“Although we will have nights for over 18’s, it is definitely important to us to make this a family environment and it will be just that here.
I’m sure a lot of parents will enjoy seeing Space Invaders, Doom and Super Mario – the games from when they were younger – along with the evolution of games up to where we are now. Some of the games we’ll have here are very hard to find anywhere else.
We’ve also invested in bringing touch screen televisions and interactive learning activities for children in a separate part of the warehouse.”
They’ve received aid from other local businesses. Though it’s been a hard road, Caton seems very positive and excited about what’s to come. If you’re a local in Scunthorpe or traveling that way, the big day is April 3! You’ll even be able to book space for private parties.
The biggest thing I want to see is esports teams coming here to practice. It could give exposure to the Arcade Warehouse so that more people would be willing to travel through the UK to visit and hang out to play games with each other. It could even be a hot spot to watch esports, do meet and greets, and more. There are lots of options. I can’t wait to see what comes of it.
