Leaked Apex Legends Conduit Character Is All About Shields

by in Apex Legends | Nov, 15th 2019

Apex Legends is in the middle of season three right now and this is one of the biggest seasons with the addition of a new legend and an entirely new map for players to enjoy. But if the most recent leak is to be revealed, there could be a new character joining the fight soon.

This would be the latest character to possibly be joining the game after the release of Crypto at the onset of season three. Of course, there are players who speculate that the very next legend will be the one who hosted the mysterious Halloween Fight or Fright event that happened recently.

It is expected that after that, we could see this new character revealed in the latest leaks for the game. That character is none other than the Apex Legends Conduit character. The name for the character eludes to the abilities and utility for it as well.

Apex Legends Leaks Continue with Conduit Character

Popular and known leaker for the popular battle royale game, That1MiningGuy (via Dot Esports), is back at it again. This leaker is one of the two main ones who are always leaking valuable information regarding the upcoming heroes for the battle royale game.

The leaker has posted yet another video on YouTube, detailing the latest leaks for the game. As part of this, the newly leaked character Apex Legends Conduit was revealed. As the name for the character states, this is one electrifying character but different from the way that Wattson works.

However, it will be interesting to see when Conduit is introduced into the game since we have seen so many leaked characters in the past who are still not in the game. But considering how well-formed Conduit is, there is the possibility that we will see this character sooner rather than later.

As for what the data miner has found in the game, there is a good bit of information to go on. We have info on all three abilities that the character has and our idea of what this will mean in the game itself. So, without further ado, let’s dive right in and look at this character.

Apex Legends Conduit Abilities: Passive Ability

First up for Apex Legends Conduit is the passive ability, known as the Capacitance ability, which is quite a mouthful for what is rather interesting. Conduit is unlike any other character in the game when it comes to its health.

For reference, every other hero in the game starts out with 100 health in total. This is the standard that has been followed for every hero to date. Then you can get shields throughout the game to buff your character and have a better chance of surviving against the enemies.

However, this isn’t the case for Conduit. This character will start out each match with 50 health instead of 100 but also having 50 shields to make up the difference. This is unique but the passive for the character doesn’t end there.

Conduit’s shields will also regenerate over time on its own. This means that you could presumably get 100 shields near the start of the match without having to use any items or anything like that. The catch, though, is that you can’t have full health at the start of the match.

This will likely push Conduit players to match up with Lifelink’s or to find some health packs quickly so that they can have full health again like everyone else in the match. What the data miner presumes is that this could change up the time to kill for someone like Conduit where it could be more unpredictable.

Some players won’t really think about the different timing for how this character works and think they have killed it only to realize that it is still alive.

Apex Legends Conduit Abilities: Tactical Ability

The shield theme with Apex Legends Conduit continues with its main tactical ability. This is the standard ability that most players will use most of the time due to its simple cooldown. The tactical ability that Conduit has is called Arc Flash.

Arc Flash is a risk and reward kind of system. What it does is basically turn your shields into a currency of sorts. You can spend your own shields and lose some of it to give your targeted allies an overshield. According to the leaker, they surmise that there will be a separate bar for the overshield.

This overshield will likely overlap with the current shield and be an extra layer on top of your normal health and shields in the match. This is, of course, at the cost of your own shields while you are playing as Conduit. While this may seem unfortunate, it is an excellent ability.

After all, we know that the passive ability allows the player to regain shields over time. We don’t know how fast the shields will regenerate but the fact that it is there allows you to use Arc Flash whenever you need to. Presumably, the best option is in the middle of those difficult fights.

This will give your team a leg up on those teams who don’t have a Conduit on their side since you are able to give your team an extra layer of protection that could allow you to win over teams who only have the traditional shields and health available to them.

Apex Legends Conduit Abilities: Ultimate Ability

From there, there is only one ability left to Apex Legends Conduit and that is the ultimate ability. This is the final ability available to it that you must charge up over time throughout the match. It will likely take several minutes to charge up the ultimate ability unless you use a certain item.

The ultimate ability that Conduit has available to them is the Short Circuit ability. This is more of an offensive ability compared to the rest of the abilities that are available to the electrifying hero. What Conduit does is channel their shields into a giant electrical ball of sorts to damage enemies.

The hero sends out the ball to the enemies ahead of them on the battlefield and when hit with the ball, it will steal their shields away from them. This is an interesting ability because it may not necessarily kill the opponents right then, but it is sure to sap them of their precious shield defenses.

It is assumed that the Short Circuit ability won’t necessarily end there. It is likely that the stolen shields will be given back to Conduit who will then have recharged shields again. This is great for continuing the cycle of feeding shields to your teammates and so on.

But at the same time, it also limits the utility of the ultimate ability as it is most useful in specific situations that we will get to in a moment. Now that we know all about the abilities that Conduit has, it is time to evaluate and figure out what we think about this character in terms of the metagame.

What Kind of Character Is Conduit?

It is likely that Conduit is a sort of support character in the game but not in the way of a tank or anything like that. Instead, it would be more like an offensive support character who holds the team together with its useful abilities. At the same time, though, it has some defensive capabilities, too.

We see Conduit as a pretty versatile character on the battlefield who could very well make or break the teams that they are on. If the character stays exactly as it is, it will likely become one of the top characters in the metagame and be a must-have for every team.

This is because Conduit is a jack-of-all-trades in a way. It has the offensive abilities of its ultimate ability plus the ability to buff teammates and keep them alive. However, it will take some level of skill to pull off this character and, as such, is likely not going to be for everyone.

We could see Conduit being a character that is for those players who think ahead and, on the fly, knowing when to use abilities at the right time. This is a character that must be used in the right situations at the right moments or else they will be made useless. There is a good bit of strategy necessary for this fighter.

How Conduit Could Work in Battle Alone or With Teams

There is the question of how Conduit will work in the game on their own or with a team. Starting with their solo capabilities, this is one character that could work well on their own, but we aren’t super sure just yet. It could also go the other way and be one that you want to use as a team always.

This is because of the abilities itself. All the abilities that Conduit has are mostly built towards using as part of a team in the game. The tactical ability is made completely useless after all if you are playing by yourself for whatever reason. This could be because your team is dead, or you are trying out the solo mode that hopefully comes back in the future.

On the other hand, though, the passive and ultimate abilities are survival ones that will keep Conduit presumably alive for much longer. You have the benefit of regenerating shields so that you can stay alive for a while and keep annoying your opponents.

This is great for making escapes, too, as even a few far away shots won’t be enough to take you out if your shields are good. Then there is the ultimate ability, which could be amazing for playing solo against another team of players who outnumber you.

Playing against more opponents than teammates you have is always a frustrating experience. Even if you are a talented player, it can be difficult if they all stay together and watch each other’s backs. But with the ultimate ability, you can potentially steal shields from all of them and give them to yourself.

This would be great for fighting a good bit, weakening them, letting yourself get weakened, and then using your ultimate ability. This will restore your shields hopefully and steal what is remaining of theirs. This is a great surprise move and it sets them up to be easily killed by you.

While possibly good as solo, Conduit truly shines through when used as part of a team. You are the glue for the team that can not only restore everyone’s shields fairly often at the cost of your own shields, but you are also able to go into offensive mode when necessary.

Conduit is not the kind of character that charges out and attacks first, but it is the type of character that is best used for sometimes scouting out for the others to attack or staying behind the group. You will want to be always near your team, though, so that you can heal their shields.

Conduit will also likely be the secret weapon for the team in terms of the ultimate ability that is able to extend a fight beyond what it would have been before. You are fully capable of stealing your opponent’s shields, restoring your team’s and your own, and possibly securing the win.

Conduit and the Leaked Evolving Armor Go Well Together

Conduit is like another feature recently revealed for the game in a leak called the evolving armor. It is a new type of armor that evolves over time with the match as you progress and do better. Right at level one, it will have the similar capabilities as the normal shield in the game, but it should evolve over time.

Level two gives you more damage that can be absorbed and level three can give the player a whopping 225 health. But the actual process of evolving it is the interesting part. Apparently, it has to do with the number of kills that the player can get in the game.

The more kills that you get during the match, the more powerful the armor will become. This allows the player to just stick to this armor rather than must search high and low for a purple or gold armor piece. This encourages players to become more aggressive again, which is great considering the current meta.

When paired with Conduit, this could change the metagame considerably. Currently, there is more of a defensive feel to the metagame where characters like Wattson are keeping players at arm’s length and deaths aren’t nearly as fast as they were before.

This could change that entirely and allow for players to play with a variety of strategic options. But again, both the evolving armor and Conduit are just leaking now. We will just have to wait and see if either of them will be added to the game soon.
