LCK to Welcome a Limited Number of Fans Back to LoL Park

by in League of Legends | Jun, 2nd 2021

A limited number of fans will once again be able to spectate their favorite LCK teams and players in person at the LoL Park! This, after a year filled with bad news and even worse circumstances, is about as positive an announcement as it gets! We’re all fed up with the current state of the world and, needless to say, 2020 and 2021 will long be remembered, albeit for all the wrong reasons. The fact that fans will once again be able to attend in person and watch their favorite teams compete is definitely a cause for celebration!

Plus, most folks are expecting DWG KIA to struggle a bit more this time around. They’re still heavily favored, but their showing at this year’s Mid-Season Invitational was, in all fairness, surprisingly fallible. The rest of the LCK, on the other hand, had the luxury of watching it all unfold and they probably took notes on how to best exploit DWG’s (few) weaknesses. All signs are pointing towards a more entertaining second half of the season, which would definitely be a breath of fresh air given just how dominant DWG had been back in Spring. We’re hoping to see fewer blowouts and one-sided shellackings, although it’s still too early to predict anything with confidence.

In-Person Attendance… For a Select Few

Unfortunately, only 40 fans will be allowed to spectate in person at LoL Park for this upcoming LCK split. This isn’t some arbitrary decision but rather the result of Korea’s anti-COVID regulations — hence the limit. Still, 40 is definitely better than zero, and, at the very least, it’s a sign that better days are coming. They might not come as soon as we’d like, but at least we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

All in all, it’s quite an exciting moment for fans of competitive League — especially those who are partial to the LCK! The second half of the competitive season is scheduled to begin in just a couple of days and, needless to say, there’s quite a lot on the line! So, as always, make sure to clear out your schedule and tune in as we should be in for one heck of a ride!
