Knockout City Season 2 Launches Today

by in General | Jul, 27th 2021

What is there to say about Knockout City? The 3v3 reflex-based dodgeball game where players duke it out in a high stakes game of dodgeball? It’s seemingly the underdog of the 2021 lineup this year. The game continued to chug along, bringing more than its fair share of fans on board due to its addictive gameplay and fun style. However, it’s not done yet, as the new entry in the Knockout City Chronicle showcases new content has dropped today, which shakes things up for the players…. literally.

Season 2 Inclusions

Season 2 is full of new content with a seasonal change, from maps to balls, contracts, and other things that can guarantee players will continue to have fun for the nine weeks that the season runs. Here’s everything that’s added to the new season!

The Holowood Drive-In

It’s not the future without holographic technology. And the world of Knockout City has provided players with that same technology in the new map added to the game.

Knockout City has stepped into the future by showing their 3D movies in Real 3D. There is a drive-in movie theater with a stage. This map will have players starting on one side of the map at the convenience stand and then work their way onto the stage, where the map will change from a flat plane into a new scene from one of six movies sets.

The map is reminiscent of the Pokemon Stadium map from Smash Brothers, as that map has a morphing function as well, changing the area every so often. The film set morphs periodically, so don’t expect to be safe for long, as the cover a player is using could vanish in the next second. Regardless, this map is certain to catch the eye of players who haven’t thrown down in Knockout City for a few weeks.

The Soda Ball

With a new season, there is a new ball. This time, players will get their hands on Boba Cola, which will get on your clothes if you’re not careful. The ball is a shaken-up bottle of the renowned drink in Knockout City, with the player can shake the bottle up. However, the pressure in the bottle builds, showing a meter with how close it is to blow up in the player’s hands.

Once it explodes, the player will be covered in the syrupy concoction from head to toe. While the bubbly blast doesn’t hurt the player, it will blind them, hindering their vision until they’re free from their carbonated confines. If the ball hits a player before it explodes, it will deal damage, which can make for an interesting strategy for players. If one gets blinded by the soda, targeting them will be easier since they’re unable to see the incoming ball. This shows the immense influence that teamwork has on the game. And the soda ball is a fantastic addition to the game as well. Since it always seems like there are not many other ideas for special balls after what they’ve made so far.

New Energy Drink and Brawl Shop Items

There’s a new energy drink in town, which functions as Knockout City’s version of double XP tokens. The new drink is Orange Overcharge, and as the name suggests, KO’s that players get with the overcharge function will award 500% XP to the player who drank the can. The game’s energy drinks have a prerequisite before awarding the extra XP.

This means that players will ask for a pass a lot more while drinking this, possibly enforcing more teamwork from the game’s random players. It makes for a very welcome win-win scenario for the community. On top of this, the game is adding more items to the brawl shop, which will include new themed outfits for the movie-themed season, with the big bundle being Armazillo. The whole Armazillo costume, head body, and gloves, as well as a special defeat pose, player icon, and crew logo, will be in the brawl shop for 2400 Holobux, which is a massive discount from buying them individually.

New Weekly and Daily Playlists

A new season also brings a new game mode. This time, Face-Off is coming back. However, the twist on this mode is sure to make players think a little bit more before running into the fray haphazardly.

Big Team Elimination is the same as Face-Off, but with four teams instead of one on one. Four players will enter a map before taking one another on. With one life each, it’s a matter of which team wipes out the other team before the Danger Zone closes in and takes someone out themselves. Players who get knocked out have to take a seat on the sidelines and wait for the match to finish, best out of 3 wins!

The first week of Season 2 will include Big Team Elimination until the end of the week, in which a daily mode is going to cycle throughout the week. Tuesday is Double Team KO, Wednesday is Face-Off, Thursday is Party Team KO, Friday is Diamond Dash, Sunday is Coin Hoarders, and Monday is Party Face-Off.

For those worried that Team KO will cycle out, have no fear, as Team KO is here to stay, forever!

League Play Changes

For League Play, players will be reset. However, the community has mentioned to Velan that they’re looking for a bigger reset than usual. Velan has obliged, putting players back to their previous tier, regardless of how far they are in their current one.

Whether that’s Gold 1, 2, or 3, players in the Gold Tier will be sent back to Silver 1. Players above platinum in any capacity are going back to Platinum 1.

Leaderboards are also included in the game, letting players find out where they stand in Knockout City under the best of the best and putting a number to the elusive skill level used in the game’s matchmaking Velan clued players in on recently.

Knockout City continues to wow its community with how forthcoming Velan is and how dedicated they are to making their community happy. With more content coming in the future, there’s still time to get on the ground floor of this fantastic multiplayer title!
