Knockout City Announces 10-Day Free Trial and Events During Launch

by in General | May, 13th 2021

Knockout City is making waves today as Velan Studios announces their Knockout City “Block Party,” a 10-day festival to commemorate the game’s launch next Friday. The game will be free to play until May 30, in which players will have to purchase the game for $20. However, Velan Studios is optimistic that Knockout City will entice players to give the game a try as every day after launch will be packed to the brim with tons of events for players to enjoy.

The Block Party

According to Velan’s website, Knockout City’s Block Party will contain rewards for players who join to test the game out and reward players who’ve been sold by the free trial and decide to purchase the game as well.

The free trial of the game is similar to steam’s free weekend games. The whole game will be free to download and play until the party is over. So what does this mean for player’s who want to buy it after they try it?

According to Velan, all progress will be saved to the player’s account when the free trial is upgraded to the full version of Knockout City. If the player happens to purchase the game during the Block Party, they’ll be rewarded with a full set of cosmetics to spend in the store. These rewards also stack with the game’s deluxe edition, which comes with an Epic outfit, custom crew vehicle, crew logos and banners, and $10 worth of Holobucks.

Contracts will reward players with XP boosts for Season 1, which launches four days after the Block Party starts. This means that if challenges are completed, players will level up faster during the final days of the party in conjunction with the Season 1 first week, which sees a new map, and more content to entice players to buy the game for themselves.

So, what’s to be expected for the Knockout City Block Party? With 10 consecutive days of content brewing, many are wondering what might come from the game’s release. Velan has released a full roadmap of the Block Party on their blog. Each day is something new.

Velan Studios appears real confident in the launch of Knockout City. While they’ve set up so many events for the 10 days past launch, their option to make it free until after the first week of Season 1 means they’re confident that the game will speak for itself when May 21 rolls around the corner.

Until then, players have to wait on new information about what else the game might have in store.
