KCorp Officially Confirm Signing Top Laner Cabochard

If you’re a fan of KCorp — as in one of the hundreds of thousands who tuned in to see this French-based organization compete throughout the most recent EU Masters — then you’ll be happy to find out that Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet has officially been signed for the second half of the 2021 season! This, in short, is a match made in heaven. In fact, it’s quite strange that Cabochard hadn’t looked into playing in the LFL sooner. It’s not as prestigious or “important” a stage as the LEC, but given their viewership numbers, it might be time for us to re-evaluate our parameters for success.

If it’s the number of viewers and hype and a passionate fan base, then the LFL is already more successful than a slew of other “major” regions. It goes without saying that competing in the LEC is what most players dream of; winning an LEC title, however, is “reserved” only for the crème de la crème. In other words, only two or three teams have what it takes to hoist the LEC trophy. Teams ranked third/fourth through tenth are destined to watch and be used as a building block for someone else’s narrative and triumph. Hardly all that interesting.

So, with that in mind, one could argue that it’s better to be a top-tier ERL competitor (like KCorp or AGO Rogue, for instance) than, say, EXCEL Esports or Misfits Gaming. Sometimes competing in the biggest of leagues and on the biggest of stages isn’t necessarily the best option out there — doubly so if you’re a veteran player who’s already been through it all.

A Chance at Redemption

Cabochard last played for Team Vitality back in 2020 but had parted ways with the organization after a five-year stint — a run defined by blistering highs and crushing lows. And even though he hasn’t been quite as competitive as during his “glory days,” he’s still a top-tier performer and a stellar pick-up for Karmine Corp. And, well, he’s French so he fits the bill in every which way.

With a seasoned veteran like Cabochard within their ranks, KCorp will once again have all the right tools to leave a mark and, potentially, finish 2021 off in the best possible way.
