Allegations by Former Players Against Jason Lake Surface
Following his controversial comments made earlier today about the current Complexity roster, it appears as if team CEO Jason Lake isn’t out of the woods yet, as several former players have come forward accusing Lake of having issues with his players in the past. These new Jason Lake allegations are disturbing if true.
Past Wrongs Resurface
The accusations came to light over the weekend in a podcast interview by Ryan and RushB with current Lazarus coach FRoD, who previously was a player with Complexity in the mid-2000s and again later from late-2015 to mid-2016.
In the interview, FRoD claims Lake had drinking problems during his time on the squad, and may have even gotten physical with the players at times as well.
While the allegations would be shocking if true, they do line-up with previous statements made by the CEO himself.
In a former podcast with Hecz he discussed how the stress from his early days with the org led him to have some trouble with alcohol, and that his childhood in football had left him with a tougher, more aggressive, and demanding mentality.
In that interview, however, he did claim he’d given up drinking after a while, though when exactly he did so remains unclear.
There’s also the issue of exactly what period on the team FRoD was referring to as if it’s the mid-2000s point of the roster the story lines up with what Lake said to Hecz, though if he’s referring to his more recent stint on the team, things get a bit dicier.
The biggest accusation, however, is the possibility of him having gotten physical with the players, a very serious problem if the accusations prove true.
Lake has yet to comment on the podcast interview from FRoD, though whether he feels the need to respond at all or not remains to be seen.
No other player has yet come forward to back these Jason Lake allegations up as well, casting some doubt on their authenticity.
We’ll likely hear more on this in the coming weeks, and will keep you updated as more information comes to light.
