Welcome back to another exciting day of CSGO news! Today we’ve got a recap of IEM Beijing, a look at the ownership controversy over at Astralis, and some roster move rumors over at eUnited.

As always, we’ve got a lot to cover today, so let’s dive on in.

IEM Beijing Highlights

IEM Beijing continued into its playoffs this past weekend with some fantastic matches to close out the event.

The playoffs began with what Vitality vs 100 Thieves in what started out looking like it would be a stomp for Vitality after going 16-8 on Mirage.

100 Thieves looked to just be warming up, though, as the team fought back to a close 16-4 victory on Nuke before shocking the crowd with a 16-2 shellacking on Inferno, giving them a 2-1 win and a ticket to the Grand Final Sunday.

Meanwhile, over in the other semi-final, Astralis took FaZe Clan to town in one of the most one-sided tournament matches we’ve ever seen in the top level of CSGO.

The Danes took out the surging FaZe 2-0 in map score, with a jaw-dropping map score of 32-2 across both maps.

Yes, you read that right, FaZe only picked up two rounds across the entire series, with both wins coming on the second map Nuke.

Astralis did not let off the gas going into the Grand Final either, as the team took out 100 Thieves 3-0 in the best of five.

While opening map Vertigo was close at 16-14 in favor of Astralis, the next two maps of Nuke and Train saw the reigning Major champions smash 100 Thieves 16-5 and 16-3, respectively.

Astralis ended the tournament undefeated after nine maps, and have once again taken over the top of the HLTV rankings.

Astralis Ownership Troubles

Speaking of Astralis, the team’s gotten into a bit of controversy this weekend after it was revealed that former player Lurppis still had ownership in the team amounting to 8.8% of the company.

Lurppis recently signed with Immortals Gaming to manage MIBR, and many in the community expressed concern that this would prove a conflict of interest in the future, something Valve has adamantly been against for a while now.

The team’s CEO has come out stating Lurppis has been a silent minority owner for a while now, and that they have no concern that this would be a conflict of interest, though whether or not Valve will see it that way is still up in the air.

We’ll update you all when Valve releases a statement regarding the situation.

eUnited Roster Changes

Our last stop of the day takes over to North America, where eUnited is rumored to be making another series of roster changes after just adding Freakazoid to the squad last month.

According to a report by RushB, the team is letting current IGL Vanity go and re-adding Moose to the line-up after a month hiatus.

The move will also see Freakazoid take over the IGL spot for the squad and comes after a period of struggle for the squad in which they only placed third at a C-Tier event last weekend.

Hopefully, this move will see the NA squad finally start progressing up the ranks and back into the top 30 sometime soon.

That’s all we have for today, thanks for reading. We’ll be back tomorrow to bring you more exciting CSGO news, so stay tuned!
