HyperX and Panda Global Release Gaming Eyewear

HyperX made a massive announcement this morning! One of the biggest needs of people who spend a lot of time in front of their computer screens is a way to reduce eye strain. So with that in mind, HyperX released its HyperX gaming glasses featuring the Panda Global branding! All of the quality you’ve come to expect from HyperX comes with the stylish logo and branding of Panda Global esports.

For those of us, like myself, who love pandas and spend a lot of time in front of their desks, this is a perfect addition to your gaming gear collection. HyperX has been making serious moves this year. Perhaps this will be the first of several gaming glasses with logos/designs based on esports teams?

Panda Global + HyperX

These Panda Global HyperX gaming glasses have the black/green panda styling, and their signature logo, to show you both want to keep your eyes protected while showing your love for Panda Global. How do they work though? By now we’re all probably familiar with Blue Light Filtering. That’s what these gaming glasses by HyperX use, to minimize the artificial blue light that comes at us from using our phones and monitors.

These glasses also minimize the color distortion and reflections on the front and back of the lenses. Frankly, that’s one of the things I hated about wearing Gunnars all the time, is that yellow tint that’s on everything. It didn’t harm anything, but it was weird and distracting, for someone that doesn’t wear glasses.

“Over the past few months there has been a surge of in the amount of time spent in front of a screen; whether that be working from home, gaming for increased hours, or in many instances – a combination of the two,” said Stephanie Winkler, strategic marketing manager for HyperX.

“Both HyperX and Panda Global recognized the importance of eye health for players and fans alike, so this collaboration has taken on a new weight of importance for our changing times. The Panda Global team has been using the HyperX Gaming Eyewear for several years now, and have firsthand knowledge on how beneficial it is in reducing eye strain during practice, competition and general screen time.”

The glasses themselves are manufactured by Eyeking and are familiar with blue light protection. The HyperX Gaming Eyewear – Panda Global edition also offers optional prescription lenses, for those of you who are in need. Just go to the Rx section of the HyperX Gaming Eyewear website.

“We’re very excited at Panda Global about this collaboration with HyperX and Eyeking to bring the first team eyewear to market,” said Alan Bunney, MD, CEO of Panda Global. “It seems to be a no-brainer that an esports team would make eyewear given how many gamers wear glasses in our industry (myself included) but making them is a much harder task than you’d think! Thanks to HyperX and Eyeking, we were able to make these a reality and we’re so excited for people to be able to use them.”

The most important thing for me is comfort though. I don’t wear glasses, but I do wear headphones for most of my day. As someone who suffers greatly from near-daily migraines, having glasses frames pushing into the side of my head, thanks to my headphones, can be a serious put-off. These are supposed to be comfortable and durable.

The HyperX gaming glasses have integrated spring hinges for flexibility and multi-layered designer-quality acetate frames. They should retain their color longer than the painted polycarbonate frames, which is also nice. The lenses themselves are made of crystal-clear nylon, for clear vision and vivid colors. So, they’ve already got my attention. If they don’t make my world yellow, I’m into them.

“It was great to collaborate with such a talented brand,” said Craig Fels, chief operating officer of Eyeking. “The Panda Global team has experienced firsthand the protective benefits of HyperX Gaming Eyewear so they were more than enthusiastic to create a unique eyewear design that their fan base will love. We look forward to launching this style in the player community.”

Green and black are two of my favorite colors, so seeing the green-and-black of Panda Global on display here is really nice. It’s important to be fashionable, even while diving into esports. The combo of fashionable look and comfort is serious business!

This isn’t the first HyperX glasses either. Back in 2017, they originally launched their HyperX gaming glasses line. You had four colorways including shiny black/red, shiny black, crystal smoke, and tortoise. They look cool and block out that harmful HEV blue light, and that’s key to being comfortable while working.
