How to Get Free Fortnite TIE Whisper Glider and New Skins
The Game Awards 2019 just aired and there were a ton of announcements for the video game industry alongside the actual awards. One particular announcement was for Fortnite after Epic Games teased that the company would reveal something for battle royale there.
The Fortnite announcement at The Game Awards 2019 revolved mainly around the upcoming Star Wars collaboration. In anticipation of the upcoming release of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, Epic Games and Disney are partnering together for a collaboration unlike any other before.
We already know that there will be a special Fortnite Star Wars scene that will be shown off this weekend but that is only a portion of the actual collaboration between the two massive properties. We found out much more about the event at The Game Awards 2019.
Fortnite Star Wars Skins Released
Epic Games is going to be offering some new skins based on Star Wars in the game for players to pick up and there will also be a free glider that players will be able to get for participating in the event. There are three main skins that we know that will be offered in the game right now.
If you are reading this now, you are able to pick up the three new Fortnite Star Wars skins that are based on popular characters from the recent trilogy of the games. You are able to get a Rey and Finn skin by purchasing them in the daily item shop, giving you the chance to show your love for the characters.
Both of them are two of the most popular and important characters in the latest trilogy going on right now that is set to conclude with the upcoming film. The third skin that you are able to get isn’t actually Kylo Ren like you might expect but a different villainous character.
Players will be able to get the special Sith Trooper skin in the game that makes you look like a special red trooper that is aligned on the Dark Side. We are sure to find out more about these soldiers in the upcoming ninth mainline film in the galactic saga.
But the new skins that players will be able to get in the game are only a portion of the collaboration going on right now. Players will be able to wear those skins to the special event on Saturday, December 14 where players will be able to watch a scene from the upcoming movie live.
We already knew this event was going to happen soon but there is much more to it than just watching a live scene. The scene will be exclusively shown off first in the game with the director of the movie himself JJ Abrams making an appearance in celebration of the collaboration.
How to Get the Free Fortnite TIE Whisper Glider
In addition, players will be able to earn a special reward just for showing up and joining in on all of the fun live. As announced at the Game Awards, you will be able to receive a free Fortnite TIE Whisper glider item. This cosmetic item looks great and will be available to everyone who shows up.
That’s all you have to do, which is easy enough since it is a free live event that is going to likely be a great time anyways. Of course, you do need to actually show up on time so be sure to keep an eye on the time as this event will likely be rather short and easily missed.
The doors will open in the game 30 minutes prior to the start of the show. We take this to mean that Epic Games will either offer a special game mode for players who want to check out the event or players will simply be able to get into the movie scene location 30 minutes prior to the start.
This will happen at 10:30 am PT and players will be able to get ready for the event. If you are wanting the Fortnite TIE Whisper glider, you will want to show up as soon as you can after the doors open because there could be server issues.
We expect quite a lot of players across all platforms to show up for this premiere event so the servers could encounter issues because of this. At the very least, we recommend that players show up at least 10 minutes before the start of the show.
When you do get into the game match for the event, you are going to want to head to Risky Reels as that is the location of the actual showing. Risky Reels is an unnamed landmark on the map unlike before where it was an actual named location in the game.
As such, you will need to head west of Frenzy Farms to find Risky Reels in case you don’t already know its location. There is a massive pillar of light at the location currently in the game that counts down to the start so it is possible that it will be easy to find the location on Saturday.
Once you are there, just sit back, hang out with other players, grab some snacks if you want, and enjoy the show. After the event has ended, players should be able to find the free Fortnite TIE Whisper glider in your cosmetic locker for use in future matches.
Don’t miss out on the free glider and the exclusive scene premiere on Saturday, December 14 when it starts at approximately 11 am PT.
