How to Complete the Fortnite Star Wars Challenges

by in Fortnite | Dec, 16th 2019

One of the biggest and most important collaborations in Fortnite history is happening right now in the game. Players are able to enjoy a limited time crossover between Fortnite and Star Wars. Characters, skins, gameplay mechanics, and even weapons are fully available in the battle royale game.

Star Wars Scene in Fortnite Leads to New Collaboration Event

It all started a few weeks ago with the introduction of the Stormtrooper skin that players could purchase in the item shop plus the tease of an Imperial Star Destroyer spaceship in skies over the island that was introduced with the start of chapter two, season one in battle royale.

It all culminated in a crossover event where players were able to watch an exclusive scene from the upcoming film Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker that will be coming to theaters this week and conclude the saga. With the launch set to happen so soon, it is no surprise that a limited time event is also happening in Fortnite.

Players were able to tune in only once and see the scene from the upcoming movie that lasted just a moment or two. The event was a surprisingly big one, featuring the director of the movie himself JJ Abrams making an appearance as one of the hosts for the party.

This was done alongside The Game Awards 2019 host and creator Geoff Keighley who helped usher in the event. It was a sweet event where players were able to see the Millenium Falcon take on some TIE fighters and play around with lightsabers in a semi-interactive event.

This kicked off lightsabers, TIE fighters, skins, and more that players can now find in the game for a short period of time. In addition, all players who attended the event and logged in during the past weekend were able to collect a free TIE Whisper glider.

But that’s not all, though. There are plenty more cosmetic items that players can collect for free so long as they dig deep into the new Fortnite Star Wars challenges that are available.

Full List of All Fortnite Star Wars Challenges

There are a ton of new Fortnite Star Wars challenges for players to check out right now in the game. They work in an interesting event challenges way that we haven’t seen too much of in a little while. And what’s great is that completing this event challenges will give some epic rewards that you can’t get anywhere else.

You can find the full list of the Fortnite Star Wars challenges below:

  • Complete five stage one challenges
  • Complete five stage two challenges
  • Complete five stage three challenges
  • Deal 100 damage with a lightsaber
  • Raise your banner to capture TIE fighter crash sites
  • Block 50 damage with a lightsaber
  • Get First Order Stormtrooper eliminations with a lightsaber or from beyond 100 meters
  • Deal 200 damage with a First Order blaster rifle to opponents or First Order Stormtroopers

As you can see, there are some interesting challenges in this list. They are all tied directly into the collaboration event itself and will require players to show their true power of the Force. They are all about lightsabers, taking out Stormtroopers, and much more.

Below, you will find our guide to all of the Fortnite Star Wars challenges that are available in the game on all platforms around the world right now. In addition, we are going to explain the stages part of the challenges that is key to receiving some of the best rewards offered in the event for free.

How to Find a Lightsaber and Deal Damage With It

Ignoring the stages part of the Fortnite Star Wars challenges for a little bit, it all starts with the first lightsaber challenge on the list. Your task is to deal at least 100 damage with a lightsaber in battle royale. That is a fair bit of damage, equal to a person’s full health if they have no shields.

But, of course, you are going to need the signature lightsaber weapon if you are going to be able to actually deal damage with it. Therein lies the biggest problem with this challenge but it is where we come in. There is mainly one way that you are able to get lightsabers in the game right now.

You are going to need to find some of the new chests that have begun appearing around the island. They are the smaller blue glowing chests that have the futuristic sci-fi Star Wars feel to them. When you open up these chests, you are likely to receive one of the lightsabers that are in the game now.

There are four different lightsabers that you can receive in the game and they each represent four different colors plus four of the main characters from the franchise. You have the blue lightsaber that is Rey’s, the purple one that is Mace Windu’s, the green one that is Luke’s, and Kylo Ren’s famous red one.

When you have one of these four lightsabers in your possession, you are able to deal damage with them and complete this challenge. Equip the weapon from your inventory and you are able to swing the lightsaber around with the shooting button.

If you hold down the normal shooting button or trigger for the game, you are able to swing multiple times and even do a more powerful attack on the third swing. You can easily get this challenge done quickly with just one person but, if you don’t, you can take your time and do it across matches.

However, there is a twist of sorts with these Fortnite Star Wars challenges. Each of the challenges are divided into three stages, something that we haven’t seen from a challenge in some time. Completing stage one of this challenge and getting 100 damage will grant you stage two after leaving the match.

Stage two is, understandably, a little bit harder and requires you to deal 200 damage instead of 100 with a lightsaber. This is equal to a player with full health and shields or two players with only full health. Team Rumble is recommended for all of these stages since you have respawns and plenty of time to get eliminations.

The final stage, stage three, is the hardest and requires you to get 300 damage with a lightsaber. This is around three players with full health or get two players who have full health and shields, and you will be good to go.

Where to Find the TIE Fighter Crash Sites and Raise Your Banner

This next challenge is another unique one that ties into the franchise and will require some explanations. You need to raise your banner to capture a TIE fighter crash site. These crash sites showed up after the end of the movie scene that was shown off in the game this past weekend.

You need to visit one of these crash sites where you will find a banner there for the First Order faction and change it to your personal banner to capture that spot. But in order to do this, you will need to find one of the TIE fighter crash sites on the map.

At this time, there are five TIE fighter crash sites that the community has found on the island and we don’t expect there to be any more other than those. The first of these is found near Sweaty Sands and Holly Hedges. You can find it just outside of Sweaty Sands, southwest of the named location.

The second TIE fighter crash site is found right near Slurpy Swamp in the southwestern corner of the island. It is located southeast of Slurpy Swamp and is found in the middle of the murky waters there. The third one is centrally located in the middle of the map and is one of the easier ones to find.

It is in between Salty Springs and Frenzy Farm, just northeast of Salty Springs. It is also just northwest of the central island that is found in the center of the map. Meanwhile, the fourth crash site is found near Steamy Stacks. You can find it next to the river directly south of the named location.

The fifth and final TIE fighter crash site is near Retail Row. You can find it just north of the retail area atop the snowy hill that is found near there. It seems that you are only able to do this challenge in the normal battle royale modes of solo, duos, and squads so no Team Rumble this time around.

When you arrive at a crash site, it is likely that there will be some First Order Stormtroopers waiting for you there. Take them out and head to the banner that is placed in the ground. Walk up to the flag and interact with it to claim it for your own and finish stage one of this challenge.

That’s right, that is just stage one of this challenge. For the second stage, you will need to claim two of them, and the third and final stage will require two more. These can be done divided up between matches so be sure to take your time if you can’t reach more than one crash site in the same match.

How to Block Damage With a Lightsaber and Get Stormtrooper Eliminations

The third challenge brings us back to the lightsaber weapon that players can use in the game. We already covered how to deal damage with it but you can block with it as well. Being able to use a lightsaber in the game just wouldn’t be fair if you couldn’t block incoming fire like a Jedi does.

Thankfully, you can, though, and that is a challenge that you have to complete. You need to block 50 damage with a lightsaber. While attacking requires you to use the same button for shooting, blocking is done by using the button or trigger you use to aim down the sights with other weapons.

Holding that down will allow you to block any incoming fire from enemy weapons so long as you are facing that player. This includes the blaster rifle and any guns that a player may use against you. Unfortunately, it does not include explosives like rockets so be sure to watch out for those.

Face an enemy player, hold down the correct button or trigger, and block any incoming fire. All you need for the first stage is to block 50 damage, which is likely to only be a few bullets at the most. Stage two, though, requires more at 100 damage blocked.

And stage three is even more with players needing to block a total of 200 damage. We recommend taking your time as this doesn’t have to be done all at once. The next challenge is more on the offensive and requires you to get a First Order Stormtrooper elimination.

You need to get the elimination either with a lightsaber or from beyond 100 meters away. Basically, it comes down to slicing them up or using a sniper rifle or the like to take them out. We recommend the lightsaber since it is easier and just more fun to do.

You will find the Stormtroopers at the crash sites as mentioned before. As such, this is a great way to mix a few challenges together at the same time. You can do the lightsaber deal damage challenge, the crash site one, and this eliminations one at the same time.

Head to a crash site and take out a Stormtrooper to complete stage one. Stage two will unlock after that match and require you to get three eliminations so you will need to head to another crash site. Stage three will require a whopping five eliminations so another trip or two will be necessary.

For the final challenge on this list, you are required to deal damage with a First Order blaster rifle weapon to other players or to First Order Stormtroopers. You can find these rifles on other players who have them or just head to another crash site and take it off of the corpse of a Stormtrooper.

You need to deal 200 damage for stage one and we recommend you just use it on any remaining Stormtroopers in the area. Stage two will require a little more damage at 300 total while the final stage will require you to get 400 damage with the rifle.

Fortnite Star Wars Challenges Rewards and How Stages Work

When it comes to rewards for this collaboration event, you are expected to basically complete all of the challenges if you are going to receive some free goodies. It all ties back to the initial challenges that are based on the stages that you have experienced.

There are three main items that you can get through the event for free but they will take a good bit of time since you have to complete all of these challenges multiple times for each stage. The first one requires you to get five of the stage one challenges completed.

Basically, you need to do the stage one challenges for all five of them and you will unlock the Jedi Order banner item if you do so. The next one requires you to get all five stage two challenges done and that will give you the First Order back bling. If you complete all five stage three challenges (so every challenge in this event), you will receive the Jedi Training emote.
