FPS Parkour Game Ghostrunner is Getting Project Hel Expansion
There’s not a lot of FPS platforming games online. The idea of bringing in combat and platforming to an FPS medium seems like an untapped market. Games like Mirror’s Edge have players working their way through the world, fighting whatever enemies that they can, and completing the level in a fast time. However, one game that puts a spin on this formula is Ghostrunner.
This cyberpunk title puts combat first, but weaves the movement system into the combat as one shot is all it can take to take down the player character. It’s comparable to a game like Hotline Miami, with the player using their sword to deflect bullets, and lunge and slice their enemies asunder. Combined with the movement system, this makes for a highly addictive and very fun skill-based platformer where the combat becomes more of a puzzle rather than a combat encounter.
Now, the game is set to get its first expansion, which is going to tell a new story, and include a new character, one that’s going to be familiar to those who have played the original game.

The original DLC was aimed to be a bit smaller, but now it’s been turned into a full expansion. Called Project Hel, the player is going to take control of one of the bosses from Ghostrunner, Hel.
This new experience is fully combat-focused, and the new character is going to take one more hit compared to the player character from the original campaign. This doesn’t mean that combat is going to be any easier for the player, however, as Ghostrunner’s difficulty is what makes the game as intense as it is. The game is also going to include six new tracks for the player to jam out to while slicing up bad guys, and has six new levels and a handful of new abilities and upgrades. On top of all of this, the game is also going to include a special festive bundle on December 7th, which is going to be free for all players, allowing them to add some festive cheer to their ghostrunner.
The game is set for a full launch on January 27th, and it’s going to run for an extra $15 on top of the original game. Players will be able to pick the game up on all major consoles, as well as Steam, Epic Games, and GOG.
Those who can’t wait, however, can sign up for an early beta of the game, and try their luck at being one of the few people to give the new expansion a test run before the game comes out.
For those who enjoyed the parkour action of the original title, they’re going to be in for a treat when the DLC launches, as it’s going to include more levels, and more times to chase as players run through the cyberpunk dystopia, carving into enemies and making sure that out of all the carnage, they’re the only ones that walk out alive.
