ForZe Lying About NaVi FL1T, Oskar 99damage Interview, More – CSGO Recap 1/20/2020

by in CS:GO | Jan, 20th 2020

Welcome back everyone to another exciting day of CSGO news! Today we’ve got a look at possibly ForZe lying about Fl1t not wanting to get traded to Na’Vi, Oskar’s interview with 99damage, and Na’Vi’s interest in Perfecto from Syman Gaming and Forester from HardLegion.

As always, we’ve got a lot to cover today, so let’s dive on in.

ForZe and Na’Vi Can’t Come to a Deal on Fl1t Trade

Last week, speculation began that struggling CIS org Na’Vi was looking into picking up Fl1t from ForZe to take over Guardian’s spot on the starting roster.

Those quickly faded. NeL reported Saturday that ForZe would not part ways with Fl1t unless Na’Vi paid his buyout, valued at $1.5 million, causing the org to look elsewhere for a new player to slot in.

Rumors abound as to why ForZe wouldn’t let him go, from holding him hostage to a desire to get more cash in his sale, though according to a statement from ForZe:

“There’re many rumors about our player Evegniy “FL1T” Lebedev right now. We want to clarify the situation, so all the “experts” and “insiders” couldn’t think of new “facts” without any truth behind it. When Na’Vi management came to us with the idea of FL1T’s transfer we confirmed them, that we were not interested in selling the player. So the only option was to buy [him] out. Of course, we took our time to speak with FL1T and it was clear for all of us – he decided to stay with us, to stay in ForZe eSports. So that’s the whole story, guys.

There were no offers made and no amount named. There was no pressure from us to FL1T or NaVi management. We are asking to stop any speculation and conjecture. The case is closed, glhf.”

It’s a strange-sounding announcement. Na’Vi’s CEO responded, stating the two teams couldn’t come to terms during negotiations, so there’s a good chance they are telling the truth about the ForZe Fl1t trade.

Na’Vi Interested in Perfecto and Forester

With Fl1t gone as a possibility, Na’Vi appears to have turned their attentions elsewhere to Perfecto and Forester of Syman Gaming and HardLegion, respectively, according to OverDrive.

Na’Vi initially pursued Forester on Dreameaters before backing down to the insane buyouts the team demanded to prevent them from getting signed elsewhere. However, the change in ownership seems to have piqued Na’Vi’s interest in him once again.

Perfecto, meanwhile, has been playing in mostly C and B-Tier tournaments with Syman for a while now. He also took part in their disastrous run at the Berlin Major. While lacking some experience under the belt, he’s a young player. Getting to mentor under the arguably greatest player in the world in S1mple could prove highly effective into turning him into a star for the region.

Oskar’s 99damage Interview

Our last stop of the day takes us back towards central Europe. Former Mousesports player Oskar recently signed with Sprouts.

Oskar was part of Mouz during their string of top finishes in big tournaments back in 2018 before joining HellRaisers in March last year, a team that eventually dropped him back in the middle of October.

Since then, Oskar’s been pretty quiet besides announcing he’d joined Sprouts, which, according to the interview, was the only team in Europe to send him an offer. There have been rumors of Oskar having team problems in the past. Given how seriously teams can take what people say online about players nowadays, it comes as no surprise he’s struggled to find a new team.

Hopefully, he can prove himself a great team player on this new Sprout squad before moving back in with a big-name team.

That’s all we have for today, thanks for reading. We’ll be back later this week with more exciting CSGO news, so stay tuned.
