It is that time of the week where Epic Games releases the latest batch of Fortnite challenges for players to complete. Fortnite Week 9 challenges include a ton of tasks that are varied and feature some fun activities.
The Fortnite Week 9 challenges mean that we are near the end of the weekly challenges for this season. Well, at least as far as we know. After all, Epic Games recently revealed that the current season will last longer than initially expected.
Chapter 2 Season 1 won’t be ending next week or the week after as we originally anticipated but will be going deep into next year. It will be lasting for about two months longer than it was going to before and will be ending sometime in February 2020 rather than this month.
But with this extension, comes the strange question of what is going to happen next week. The Fortnite Week 9 challenges are available now and there are no other locked boxes of weekly challenges that are set up for the future. For all intents and purposes, this could be the final week of challenges.
But with two more months to go in this season, presumably, we will see more weekly challenges. To find out, though, you will just have to wait and see until next week or the week after. For now, though, we have a whole bunch of new challenges to complete in the week nine challenges.
This week’s challenges are collectively known as the Chaos Rising challenges. This group of challenges this week are some of the better ones that we have seen in recent weeks, especially since plenty of them are varied and interesting this time around.
The Chaos Rising challenges feature a total of 10 challenges that players can complete this week. There aren’t many tasks that are brand new, but they are all unique at least. You can find the full list of the Chaos Rising challenges that you can do this week below:
There are no new challenges available this week beyond this group of interesting tasks. We are going to go over all these challenges, including the lengthy dance at Fortnite steel bridges one. Find out how to complete all these challenges and get their rewards below.
The first challenge we must do is one of the most intriguing of the batch for these challenges. What you are going to want to do is skydive through the rings that are located at the Steamy Stacks named location. It’s simple enough to grasp and easy to accomplish.
But in order to get it done, you need to make sure that your timing is done perfectly or else you might have to restart another match. For this skydiving challenge, you are only able to do this at the start of a new match in the game.
You are going to want to make sure that the battle bus takes you over or at least near Steamy Stacks. When you are as close as possible to the named location, you will want to jump out and start skydiving. Unlike other ring challenges like this one, the twist this time around is that there is only one ring.
That single ring is the one ring that you need to skydive through in order to complete this challenge. You want to make sure that you are diving through it and not using your glider at any point. From there, we have a challenge that is all about completing a motorboat time trial.
You might remember the motorboat challenge from just recently but this time around, you only need to do a single time trial rather than all of them. There is a total of four motorboat time trials that you can do on the island map. Your best bet is to just pick the one closest to your location and do that one.
The first can be found north of Sweaty Sands and northwest of Pleasant Park. It is right in the middle of the string of islands in the northwestern corner of the island. You can typically find a good number of motorboats near here that you can complete.
Next up, there is a time trial spot right in the middle of the entire island. It is located right near the small island that is at the center of the Fortnite Chapter 2 map. There are a lot of motorboats that you can find in this area so you can easily get this time trial done.
The third trial that you can find is located right near Slurpy Swamp. It is right on the southwestern edge of the named location in its murky swamps. It might be hard to find some motorboats here, though, so you are better off possibly doing one of the other ones.
Finally, there is a fourth-time trial found near Misty Meadows. It is right on the northern edge of the town, right where it meets with the large lake north of it. There are some boats near here usually so you shouldn’t have too much of a problem finding one for this challenge.
Next up, we are going to want to do the challenge where you deal damage to opponents from below. You must do this for a grand total of 250 damage and the wording certainly alludes to the fact that you must be below your opponents.
This isn’t too hard to accomplish as you can simply attack players who are building forts and the like above you while you are on the ground. We recommend using explosives and rockets to take them out as those will deal a ton of damage. You don’t have to get all damage, though, in the same match.
The fourth challenge that we must complete is one of the most interesting and varied challenges this week. It is the Fortnite steel bridges challenge where you must find and dance at three different steel bridges around the map. There is a green steel bridge, a yellow one, and a red one.
This is fairly like the dance at three statues challenge that we did a couple of weeks ago. These can be done in any order that you want to, but we recommend just basing it on wherever you end up on the battle bus. You also don’t have to do all of them in the same match so take your time.
These Fortnite steel bridges are far apart so don’t try to take too much time out of the match to do all of them. However, we do recommend Team Rumble since it gives you a good bit of time to complete each one. The first is the green steel bridge.
You can find it near Frenzy Farm. It is the bridge that is on the southeastern edge of the farm that you can see on the map. It is running north to south and connects the farm areas to the grasslands. All you need to do is arrive there and dance atop that bridge with any dance emote you like.
From there, you need to visit the yellow bridge that is found near Misty Meadows. It is directly east of the named location and runs east to west. It connects the town to the eastern edge of the map where the snowy mountains are located. Dance here and you will complete part two.
The final of the Fortnite steel bridges is the red steel bridge. This can be found in the northwestern area of the map between Pleasant Park and Salty Springs. Pleasant Park is directly north of it while Salty Springs is south of it. It connects the two named locations.
Head to the red steel bridge here and all you need to do is dance on it to finish up this challenge.
For the fifth challenge that we are going to do, we need to get three eliminations with shotguns. It doesn’t matter which shotgun you use so long as it is classified as one of them. This is one of the most basic challenges that you can do. It doesn’t require completing in a single match so take your time.
For the next challenge, you need to use a zipline in two different matches. Ziplines were introduced a few seasons back on the previous island and acted as a vehicle of sorts to connect you to other areas on the map. Though the island is new this time, it retains the zipline feature.
They are only found in specific locations, though, so you must find them first before you can use one. The best place to look for the ziplines is on the southern edge of the map and other places where there is a lot of elevation. Ziplines typically help you get to and from between low areas and higher up places.
Once you have found yourself some ziplines, all you need to do is ride one of them. You need to ride ziplines in two different matches, though, so be sure to do all of this again in another match to complete it. After that, there is another eliminations challenge that you will need to complete.
You will need to get three eliminations within five meters of your opponent. Again, these don’t have to be done within the same match so long as you are close enough to the opponent. This pairs well with the shotguns challenge as you will want to be close anyways to take them out.
Next up, we need to search for five chests in a single match. We aren’t going to lie to you, this is a difficult challenge because it is not easy to find five chests and open them up within the same match. But this is possible to accomplish.
We recommend, first, that you are in the Team Rumble mode. This gives you more time to find chests and respawns in case you are taken out. What you are going to want to do first is to make sure you land at a named location before anyone else can.
This ensures that you can get the chests first. It is also best that you head to a place where no one else is going, which is why Team Rumble is so helpful since you can see where your teammates are. From there, you should head to other nearby named locations that are empty so you can get the chests there.
It is a tough challenge to do in one match, but it is possible with some effort and patience. For the penultimate challenge, you need to deal 500 damage to opponents while in the water. This is self-explanatory. You need to be in the water and deal 500 damage to enemies.
The issue is that 500 damage is a whole lot of damage. That is equal to five enemies who have full health but no shields. As such, your aim should be to take out at least one person per match that you are in while you are in the water and it should only take you a few matches to accomplish this.
Also, be sure to head to popular locations that have a lot of water like Misty Meadows/Lazy Lake, the central island, and Sweaty Sands.
The final challenge this week in the Chaos Rising challenges is the one challenge that makes sense of why it is called that. After all, there really is no recurring theme or anything that ties all the tasks together. For this final one, it is a callback to the hidden letters that we have done all season.
We thought that the hidden letters challenges would end last week with the letter E but that isn’t the case. For this week’s batch of challenges, Epic Games has made sure to offer some more of these hidden loading screen challenges for you to complete.
The final challenge in the Chaos Rising tasks requires you to find the hidden XP drop that is in the Chaos Rising loading screen. Instead of a letter this week, you are looking for a specific experience item. This item will, of course, grant you an awesome reward once you have located it.
But first, you are going to need the Chaos Rising loading screen itself. This shouldn’t be too hard if you have followed our guide and completed the previous challenges. Doing eight of the Fortnite Week 9 challenges grants you the necessary Chaos Rising loading screen.
With it, you can see that there are a lot of screens with various locations on them. There is one screen near the middle, though, that shows the actual XP drop. It is hard to see where the spot is but we’ve got your back for this. It is found in the Steamy Stacks location that has been quite popular this week.
You are going to want to head to Steamy Stacks and find Kevin the Cube, one of the lingering items from the previous island. If you don’t know where the cube is, all you need to do is head to the southwestern entrance to Steamy Stacks. You will find this XP drop near the cube there.
All you need to do is interact with it and you will be good to go. With that, you have completed all of the Fortnite Week 9 challenges.
Every single challenge this week is like the challenges from previous weeks. Completing them will give you a whopping 52,000 each for some wonderful experience that will be a huge help towards reaching tier 100. There is also the Chaos Rising loading screen that you can get for completing most of the challenges.
